What about masters(unless of course its raing, or its windy, or its cold, or if it is just getting late)?... I want to play more golf. I love watching Final Nines - they are especially awesome to watch at places @ HH and WVO and I have come to espect and look forward to them @ A-tier tournaments. Are the days of 4 full round tournaments going away? ...Just want to know what everyone thinks and but mainly I would like 4 shots @ playing New Quater

I think that the 4-round tourney is fine, but how do you get all four rounds in, prizes out, and everyone on the road home at a decent hour? If you start early enough, it will work. But starting before 10AM seems to be unpopular.

Ams will still play NN and NQ, but the pros playing at NN was fast becoming a two-fest. NQ provides the pros with a real challenge.

All Open Divisions will represented in the finals. This late in the year its hard to do 4 rounds even with an early start time. But, this year may go smoothly and we can attempt it next year. I'm always willing to find the best combo for our tourney and our players, even if it takes a while. Hope everyone has a good time regardless. Please come out and support.

We will be installing the practice basket in time for the tournament weekends. I have been putting this off until the cool weather returned. Bag holders were installed a little more than a week ago. Most of them are on the white tees. Three of them, #3, #11, and #18, are on the blue tees because they would otherwise interfere.

If you have not played New Quarter, I encourage you to attend this tournament and see how nice a disc golf course can be.

In up by DC and would love to come down for the AM weekend -- are there any other MD/NoVA/DC folks heading down there?

Also, for people heading down to Newport, where are people staying? And are there any locals who could recommend a good campground or who would volunteer some spare floor for the night? I'd love to see the courses there and have never been down to play.

Thanks.

I'm glad you asked Brian, perhaps everyone is still shocked over the VT meltdown with two minutes left or maybe some poor hapless Redskin fan endured 4 quarters of the worst Joe Gibbs football ever. Maybe they don't want to take part in the FINAL ODDS event of the year, could be they don't enjoy perfect weather on a fine Fall day, probably the well groomed courses or the short grass makes them mad
OR maybe they don't know how much fun they're missing. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

I can tell you what they will be missing at both weekends at New Quarter(AM and PRO):
5. Outlet shopping just miles away
4. The chance to visit an area rich in American history
3. The chance to pick up a New Quarter Mini or disc at the "Pro Shop"
2. A brand spankin' new practice basket
1. Brand spankin' new BAG HOLDERS!

Come on people, you gotta play!

I cemented the collar for the practice basket yesterday. Once it has cured, I'll set up the basket and lock it in.

The NQ staff has gone the extra mile to get the course looking nice for these tournament weekends. Fresh mulch around the tee pads, grass cutting scheduled for Thursday; it's not often you find this kind of support. Make sure you tell 'em how much you appreciate their efforts.

cant remember hole 18 for some reason.

From the white tee, it's open field across a dip in elevation, then the last 75 feet or so is in the woods. The blue tee is set about 20 feet back in the woods, approx. 135 feet behind the white tee. To get a three, you have to execute two monster drives and most likely a long putt.

Played shorts then longs - some pretty fierce winds at times, but none in the woods

Schweb 50 53 103
JJ 50 56 106
MTL 50 57 107
Gangloff 50 58 108
Hammer 50 58 108
Nate Krahn 47 61 108

Not sure who is after that - I know that Mangus is right around the 109 - 110 area - not sure where. There are probably a bunch of people in the 112 are too.

It is also worth noting that Ricky Snapp shot 12 better from the longs, a 52, after shooting 64.
