Please note corrections to the original post for this event. In my own stupid moment, I miscalculated the entry fees and posted them. I've also had issues with my new email so that is not correct either. I asked the PDGA moderators to edit or remove the post but that request is not policy and therefore it was denied. So I've updated the incorrect entry fee and email info in the previous post and we're making a few changes to get the show on the road!
Sunday, November 11th
Spring Valley Disc Golf and Golf Club
2 Rounds of 21 Holes
PDGA 'C' tier sanctioned event
Course configuration will change between rounds
Field Limited to 84 players
Additional divisions opened for 3 player minimum (Was previously 4 player minimum but we've decided that hey, while we're making changes, why not!)
Entry fees (this is where I messed up) are:
9 Divisions:
Open/Master Men $55
Open Women/Adv. Men/Adv. Master $45
Adv. Women/Intermediate Men $35
Recreational Men/Women $25
$5 Ace Pot
$5 Non PDGA member fee
Yes, we're still seeking sponsors/donations until the end of October.
The last thing to correct is my email address. I was and have for a long time been with Road Runner. Well that changed to Comcast and since then it's all gone to hell. I finally worked out all the kinks and my new email address is:
[email protected]
Now, please look at your calendars and see if your available to play on 11/11/07. The course has matured and is well maintained and there will be a silent auction and raffle of some very nice donated items. This should be a fun tournament (remember, it's sanctioned) and proceeds will be donated to help Jen and she'll be there too!! :D
Don't forget there's also a benefit for Jen tourney on 11/10/07 (the day before this) at Jack Brooks. They are planning to include some of the new holes I think!

Hope we see some out of town folks for Jack Brooks event on Saturday and then Spring Valley to finish off a great weekend of fun and friends.
BTW, Jenn is walking without a cane or crutches as of last Thursday! An answer to prayer! Amen!

I sure wish for once, you guys from disc golf mecca would grace us with your presence. It's for a good cause. No too much money to be made for the touring pro. However, tell Vinnie it's flounder season, and I have a spare ticket to the honey hole. :p

WOW!!! What a weekend of golf!
What can say, Jack Brooks Park disc golfers know how to put on and participate in a benefit tourney.
49 golfers raised 900 bucks for the cause.
370 from entrys
94 from mulligans
100 from Ace Pot (no one hit so it was included)
135 straight donations (thanks people)
201 from raffle
The club also donated the ace pot from the summer mini series to rent a hot rod golf cart for Jenn to drive around in. Man it was worth it. Seeing Jenn's smiling face around every other hole asking if I needed another beer was more then I could handle.
A few special thanks...
To Jenn and Neal for allowing us to do this for ya'll.
To Brian Boo for keeping everyone entertained during and after the rounds. And for making a huge contribution to the raffle and payout mech.
To my old buddy Lee for doing a great job on scores.
To Louis and Matt Hall for playing and being the great people they are.
To Mike Solis for finding the Hod Rod Golf Cart on a short notice. Too cool...
To Richard Lewis for his great donations and donuts.
Chuck D. didn't even play but gave us many sweet discs to use in the raffle and Am payout.
Brad Wells and others could not play but donated payout mech. Thanks...
Randy Roland for donating the grand prize raffle item even though he couldn't make it out Saturday. Randy - Emily loves it!
Thanks to Emily L. for helping with payout, donating her winnings back to Jenn and helping to count all that cash we made for Jenn.
To Andi and Don for their donations and being a great disc vendor. Andi donated her cash back to Jenn as well.
Thanks to Darrell, Brian and team brother Jeff and others for getting the course trimmed up and cleaned.
To everyone that donated the drinks.
And to everyone that played, Thanks... It was an honor to be the coordinator of such a wonderful event.

I think the ratings are off for the 1st round. This is probably because the Pros and ADV were not separated from the other divisions when calculating ratings because we had OB and they didn't. Therefor The same score in ADV the 1st round should be rated higher than that same score in int.
I hope it is fixed when the report is sent in.

That was for the Brooks tournament SW...
I understand that the Birdshot guys also raised over $900 for their benefit event last weekend. I think I heard rumor that the PDGA waived the per player fees as their "contribution" to this benefit fund! Way to go PDGA!!! :D

Are the results going to be turned in on this one? The final ratings are coming out soon and it would be nice if this is included/ Actually if the 1st rounds ratings aren't fixed might as well just not turn them in. How is it that the hot round by two is rated 1009 the 1st round and a round three off the hot is rated 1009?
They need to make the ADV and Pros thier own pool the 1st round since we played a different course than the rest of the field.

I'm guessing that they won't be. There are probably too many discrepancies with everything surrounding this tournament for it to get included. Besides the indistinct OB rule differences for different divisions, the fact that they allowed many people to use golf carts when they hadn't obtained a waiver/exemption from the PDGA is probably going to be a sticking point too.
What I'm most curious about is how much money was raised for Jennifer's medical fund by this event. I'm guessing that by now that figure has been tabulated and deposited.

I don't see why they wouldn't stiil be able to turn the stuff in. The OB should be no big deal at all because all you have to do is enter the score as different courses the 1st round (which I told them to do) and the carts shouldn't keep the reults from being turned in. I for one will be p'oed is it isn't turned in because it will cost me spots on the money list as well as a win.

We all paid the extra money for the sanctioned event, it's not right that now the results might not be included. Yes, this was a fund raising event for Jenn, but it was also a PDGA event.
I agree with Matt, this negatively impacts our PDGA standings.

That's not a good sign.
There is absolutely no reason for the results to not be in. Worst case scenario would be no ratings but I doubt that would even happen
