Quest officially has no fear. I saw this on Marshall St. today and it makes the turbo putt look normal. I am interested but I will wait for the reviews.

When Jerry G was asked for his review he said:
Round round robin run around
Gotta get back where you belong
Little bit harder, just a little bit more
Little bit farther than you than you've gone before
The wheel is turning
and you can't slow down
You can't let go
and you can't hold on
You can't go back
and you can't stand still
If the thunder don't get you
then the lightning will!

so is there an outer ring that can spin independently from the inner part?

No, of course not...there seems to just be a gap...

LOL. Does it bounce as it rolls as the picture indicates?

"How to use this disc: Roll this disc overhand to roll past obstacles. Throw high underhand shots with backspin for precision stop. Putt underhand straight or diagonal for precision putts."
I had to buy one, just like the Turbo Putt. I'll give my review here in a week and let you all know if it is truly a "Stroke Saver".

Quest brought by a box of Wheel discs to the IOS yesterday. It was fun watching it roll, and if you put a lot of backspin on it, bounce and stop. But will this thing obsolete courses? No way. It will not go 1000 feet, unless you roll it down a mountain. And if you do, there's no telling when it would stop. This disc works great for scoobies to get out of trouble. It works great as a grenade. It is not going to help someone reach an 800 foot hole. This is not a "The world is going to end" disc. It is a "I hope this gets me out of trouble" disc.
Yes, it does bounce. A couple people were trying to throw bounce putts as it would be a fun shot when playing a game of Horse. :)

I am still trying to work on my Scoobie shot so I could probably indeed use this as a training tool. Definitely use it to learn basic rolling as that's the one technique I havent mastered, except forehand of course. *shudders* I never mess with the Dark Side.

You don't roll this like a roller at all. If you try to throw it anything other than vertical, it's not going to do what you want. If you really want to learn a backhand roller, get a RoadRunner.

Yea, I agree 100%. The thought put forth by a PDGA BoD member that this disc would render all others obsolete and that the game would become dominated by rollers, with strong but unskilled players able to throw these things a thousand feet is very far-fetched.

I have a Wheel, I also have a Sidewinder.

the only use I've found for the wheel is VERY short rollers for the trouble shots mentioned earlier, and as also mentioned, you HAVE to throw this vertical... nothing else will work for a roll shot. I love innovation, however, I would not recommend wasting your money on this disc as I know you all have something in your possession that can handle what this disc at best can do, IMO.

I took a look at this disc, read the description, and right then and there decided not to even think about getting one. The design is completely ridiculous, and it almost seems like it is made for less than average players to use instead of actually using TALENT. Here's some advice: Don't waste your time on this disc, go learn how to throw a real roller!

The disc is good for a couple of short range trick shots. As a roller, it sucks. Because it is perfectly symetrical it does not curl when it runs out of steam. It rolls another ten to fifty feet straight past where your scooby roller would start curling and then maybe it curls, maybe it flops, or maybe it gets a little downhill and keeps on going. Too hard to control for a roller.
This disc is pretty good for a variety of short range back spin spike shots, but if you have that shot, you're already executing it fine with a Challenger.
Buy this disc if you buy every new disc. I've thrown it. I would not stock it. Pearson is just toying with the PDGA.

Does anyone have a picture of the rim? Just curious.

It bounces great. We were attempting bounce putts. The rim is fatter than it appears in the picture.
Again, this is a slow, short distance roller, useful for that short rolled approach shot you'd use when it is o.k. that you have no control over whether it will roll 50 feet or 100 feet. Maybe if the basket has a couple of railroad ties near it to stop approaching rollers? I'm not sure how often anyone would ever use this disc. It is a novelty. Pearson is just having fun with some of the overly uptight members of the board. He's gonna grind these up in a couple of months and make more Raging Infernos, I'm sure.

I got one last week and love it. It throws backhand with uniqueness, it overhand rolls out of problem areas nicely. It does what it is supposed to do. This is a utility disc, and a great one at that. I can't wait to put it in my tourney bag.

Funny, I just got one and find it absolutely worthless, step right up if you want a short range flick roller with no control.
