Milissa and I have been toying with the idea of making some trophies out of glass. Jerry and I talked about it some after the hunt.

A chain basket would probably take about six months of Sundays to make, but it would be worth it in the long run.

But the real cool idea is a cast glass disc with the tournament logo. I'll be working on this throughout the winter. Perhaps I can donate one to PFDS for the open next year if I can get a real cool result. I know I can engrave anything on the face of the disc, but if I can get the crystal just right, it should be a perfect replica of just about any disc in my bag.

I'll definately post pictures when I get the first one knocked out.

Any thoughts?

IMO, trophies for am divisions are a good idea.

I'd like to win a glass disc replica with tourney info engraved. that would be hot!

We're kicking around the mold for a kiln cast one... now I just gotta get the right kind of glass for it. Most likely it will be colored rather than clear crystal... a whole lot of R&D for the first one, but after that it should go smooth.

slumping is different than kiln casting... but very similar process. The flameworked stuff is just going to take way longer to develop believe it or not.
