what do you guys use for big wind? i mean almost can't play ridiculous wind. i was putting w/ my destroyer and still having trouble. i have techniques for this type of play, and was mainly going super low and grinding/sliding up shots near the ground. i watched lots of guys go backwards on drives and upshots. how would a champ gator fair gainst a demon? it seems in calm conditions they both hyzer the same. the gator is more blunt, so do you think it would be more susceptable to getting caught by the wind? same situation z-pred vs. destroyer. i realize the destroyer is not as overstable, but it can slip through the wind much faster. what do you think about these 2 comparisons andwhat do you use when it is crazy windy?

I guess you are asking about crazy windy putting? Or driving?

Putting I use my normal putter and adjust, I have lots of practice I live in Oklahoma and my primary course for a couple of years was right off a big lake....

If it gets really crazy I will use a Roc, and if I am in danger of being blown over I will putt my 05 SB Roc upside down......

Driving....play the wind, Star Max, Hyzer, good luck...

I put with a CH Gator, or Star Gator
Drive with a Firebird, Max or Destroyer

Upshots with a CH Viper ... has to be pretty **** windy though

The answer, in general, is to use overstable into the wind. I personally use Rhyno's for putting, which is a slightly overstable putter.

Into the wind I throw low and hard when putting. I will also tend to put a little hyzer on it.

Into the wind I throw one of about 4 drivers, depends on the wind. Strong winds I almost always throw a Monster or a 1st run T-Rex. I can throw that T-Rex almost as far as any disc I own, when throwing it into the wind, but it will drift a little bit. The Monster holds it's line, but I cannot throw it as far. If the wind is gusting, I prefer the Monster. It may stand up, but it is less likely to be lifted by the wind.

And never let the wind see the underside of the disc.

Still remember seeing a guy take a 6 after being 80' out on his drive (40mph sustained, 270' open hole). There was nothing in the way and his "safe" Gator approach got blown 200' away because he threw a hyzer with as the wind was right-to-left.

I used to putt with D Drones in the harshest of wind conditions. No I just play smart with a stable Wizard. But as for midrage, an ELX works best for me, and a Spirit for driving.

head wind putt 30 out.anny a putter upside down and it will helix. the wing never gets exposed to the wind. if making the putt is out of th question then grab your firebird or equilivent same release same orientation and it will slide nicely with control

A few years back Innova sponsored player TJ Lawrence got a 22 on a hole in 50-80 mile and hour winds. Sometimes it just doesn't matter what you throw or who you are...

Indeed, last February (in Michigan), I took an 8 on a under 200 foot wide open hole because a new max weight Z Predator wasn't enough for the wind. Once the wind hit's a certain speed, there's nothing that can be done. In the winter, I routinely putted with a 172 Z Flick upside down.

Pretty much dont nose up when your throwing.

Maxs' are good cause they are a little faster than Monsters but they have more glide and tend to ground out when you nose them down into the wind.

Over 30pmh I dont bother with mids

Putters...I dont know why nobody hasn't said a Sinus yet. I use a Sinus SP for putting right into the wind since I can use the same putting motion I normally use. It's a bit more overstable than a Rhyno.

Also putting upside-down is good when its crazy windy.
If thats what your into. (Flight of the Concords quote)
