When running a PDGA sanctioned Doubles event, I am guessing each team member should pay PDGA fees rather than each team only paying the fee. The TD report really doesn't accomodate doubles data entry well so I am combining team members by using the first name field for player 1 and the last name field for player 2 when entering the data. This also ensures team member scores correlate properly. The cover page is only deducting one fee per team this way however, so I am manually adjusting the total number of players (and thus fees PDGA deducted) on the cover page. Is that the proper way or should I only deduct one PDGA fee per team?

When I fill out the TD report I put the players on different lines. This way they both have a spot for their PDGA number and their is no confusion. It does mean you have to enter the scores twice, but it works. Also, I have never had any complaints in the past with doing it this way.

When I did my doubles tournament I did it like Bob described. However, when I uploaded scores the template was sorting ties alphabetically, breaking up teammates. So I gave the tied teams middle initials which corresponded to their teams so that Gentry or whoever could see who belonged together. The way the results look now, Click here to see (http://www.pdga.com/tournament/tournament_results.php?TournID=6634) is something they did at the PDGA office. That is not something I could do with the scores template or the TD report. Looks really nice now.

Yep. Fees for each player. TD report as described above. I kept a seperate spreadsheet for the pre-reged list & online scoring. Twice the typing, but it worked ok.

I have done it that way in the past, but I like my idea this year of putting both names on one line to make online scoring work easier. I will still have each team member pay the PDGA fee and the official result the PDGA does will be as usual.
Mayeb the PDGA will tweak the form next year to make it doubles - friendly ;)

It's being developed. It's not only the template that needs tweaking but the online software for uploading and displaying doubles teams properly.
