Anyone? I have a Z Magnet with a Christmas design, but don't remember the date. It was clear with sparkles. Will have to go find it unless someone knows, and that may not be the first Z plastic. hmmmmm...

Ok, actually, the real Z stuff is still being produced, right? That is cool! So I should have just said, when was the first Z plastic produced. Anyway, go Discraft!!!

I have a stack of clear first run Elite Z discs (with the mini hostamp) that I purchased when I still lived in Chicago. I remember Keith at Discraft told me that it would be the only time you'll see clear plastic available to the public (how times have changed). I'm guessing that it was October or November of 2000. I moved to Florida in early February 2001 (it was the day Dale Earnhardt crashed) and started Sun King shortly thereafter.

Earlier someone stated "who cares, it's not Innova". I thought that by making Elite Z plastic readily available and extremely consistent was actually what elevated Discraft at the time and brought on what I call the second emergence of Discraft (the first was the Cyclone era and I believe they are experiencing the start of their third currently).

Don't get me wrong, CE plastic was the most durable golf disc plastic ever made, but it was extremely inconsistent from a manufacturing standpoint. Innova had as many X-outs (or more) than marketable product and in the end making the world's most indestrucible golf disc probably didn't make a whole lot of business sense (just like making golf discs that float doesn't either - think about it)
