These discs seem pretty similar to me, anyone have other thoughts?

I haven't thrown a Flick for a long time ... but I would say you're gonna get a lot more D with a Destroyer because it has much more glide. JMO

I was thinking exactly the same thing. They do behave similarly in the air but the Flick has a different type of stability and this is partially due to the lack of glide. The flick will hold the angle of release very well (full weight) at any speed. The Destroyer will have some turn if thrown full power or if it is broken in. The destroyer will hang in the air a lot longer especially with an anhyzer release but the flick will drop and fade out much quicker. Both are blades through the air though. I would choose the flick for sidearm and skip shots and the destroyer for sweeping hyzers. Nothing i've ever thrown draws the same long, sweeping arc through the air on a hyzer route like the destroya

i keep 2 or 3 flicks in my bag broke in at different levels. i like the flick for 200-350 feet shots, skip shots, short stable shots, they have a lot of control.my destroyers are more for all out distance, mainly out in the open, long sidearm s shots, both are dependable for what i use them for. both of these discs i use for sidearms only.

I would say that the stability is not comparable. A flick is like a speed demon and a Destroyer is like a Wraith. The flick has no glide and Destroyer has a quite a bit. The only thing they have in common is that they are fast as hell!!

They're really not comparable seeing as they both fly differently, and a Destroyer will actually hold an anyhzer line. If you want to compare and contrast go with either a Flick vs. Max, Flick vs. Monster, Flick vs. Predator, Flick vs. Spirit, Flick vs. Speed Demon.

A good comparison would also be Banshee vs. Flick in my experience.

I am a big Flick fan and I agree with both of these statements. The Destroyer won't replace my Flick's in my bag but they will change the way I play some holes now. Instead of a 350' forehand S shot I'm now throwing a hyzer with the Destroyer. I'm just grateful that technology is keeping up with my aging.

Flicks aren't that overstable they are more evenly stable (depending on your arm speed). The destroyer flies like a red proto rage or a slightly used E spirit, i can't think of much else that could be comparable.

Are you joking? I am an overstable disc junky and discs don't get more overstable than a 1st run flick...an old speed demon maybe

different strokes for different folks..I have 20 and only one out of the bunch i would consider to be overstable and it's pretty much concave. Arm speed, torque, release angle all factor in. I still tend to hyzerflip all that i have except for my really weird yellow one .

I love flicks, I like to throw them on a high turnover line and give them a bunch of room to work back. I don't think they are that overstable when thrown hard and low, as I can get them to flip over slightly and finish almost dead straight in from of me. In my opionion the Proto Max with the Masters Stamp is the most overstable disc I have thrown, or the CFR Viper.
I was hoping the Destroyer would do nearly the same thing, with the extra glide giving it more D. I was impressed with 2 or 3 of them, but then I must have run into a flippy bunch, bc they would turn and not even think about coming back.
Destroyer has more glide, which in turn makes it more inconsistent.

how are the flicks for distance overhands and FH rollers?

its my go to thumber disc now, and since it is stable it is a pretty solid fh roller disc

i use flicks for sidearm accuracy , destroyers for all out sidearm distance. the destroyer will go much farther,no comparison!

I concur, it's my ONLY choice for thumbers! I do throw it forehand a bit, especially if I want a sharp S-flight or a forehand skip shot. I rarely throw it backhand, but I did Thursday; driving straight into a 35-40 mph headwind. It never even came close to flipping, so that should tell you about overstability (even at 164g). It went very straight and still had a decent hyzer fade at the end. Plus, you can get decent distance into the wind since it is so thin.

i agree about thumbers but i've been throwing predators and i think i like them a little more for it... the depth of the rim on the flash is a little too shallow for me for a thumber.
as far as destroyer vs... _______ what does everyone think of the Flash? I've only thrown it in Z plastic but have thrown it along w/ 2 destroyers (star) and the flash is consistently flying farther. Havent tried the ESP plastic yet but i'd assume it'd fly even farther than the Z.

We have a Big Arm Local Discraft guy that loves the new ESP Flash.

I sware discraft had to of changed the flick mold because the one i got is more overstable than a Firebird, Monster X, even my clear flat top spirit... It has no glide and goes no where with bh or fh, but it goes a mile with a thumber... There is no way my flick could ever be compared to a destroyer, it is stupidly overstable and i wish i could throw one of these flicks that people think are simular to a destroyer!
