Hey all, Just curious what your favorite videos are, and Why? Also what do you like in disc golf videos and what don't you like.
Personally I love the 2003 USDGC DVD
I like that it has hole by hole coverage, doesn't just highlight or focus on one person, and has info for all the holes.

MSDGC...any of them
Has good round coverages for men and women and not just the top card...highlights of the top drives, putts, etc...

Wait for the 2007 MSDGC DVD (due out b4 Xmas, if Steve does his job & I do mine). It'll yet again put all other disc golf DVDs to shame.
(2006 Japan Open DVD is also good.)

MSDGC, 06 skylands is also very well done with over 3 hours of footage, and the 06 usdgc is also very well done.
I'm pretty open to all dg footage, the only thing that gets me is no commentary, but I can still watch it

Here is something I would love to see added to most of these dvd's. I would like to see course maps for all the courses played. Since many times we are paying premuim for these dvd's already due to the smaller sellability and cost to make them, this would be a huge added benefit I think.

I recently purchased a number of DVDs based on reviews from the discgolfreview.com forums, and here are some short reviews of each:
2006 Japan Open :
Beautifully shot and edited, the fact that it's set on a ball golf course makes the action very easy to follow. Limited voiceover commentary, but fairly well done for what's there. Only has shot by shot coverage for the final 9, with limited views of the regular competition rounds. Also gets bonus points for having a good close battle between Avery and Stevie, culminating in a sudden death playoff. Overall : 7.5/10
2005 MSDGC :
Very thorough coverage of tournament rounds, although it seemed apparent that there was SO much footage that they have to almost 'rush' at times, which was a little unfortunate. I was able to follow just fine, but my father, who only dabbles in disc golf, found the pace to be a bit confusing. The extras are AWESOME- probably my favorite part of the disc, particularly the 'Hot Putts' or whatever it's called. Really top notch stuff. The commentary is a little zany at times, but pretty good. The only knock I have on the footage is something that can't be helped- on some of the tightly wooded holes, it can be hard to get an exact handle on where the preferred routes are, but the filmmakers do everything they can to pick the right spots. Overall: 8.5/10
2006 Skylands Classic :
A truly spectacular course to film. On a few holes, it suffers from the same tight woodsy problems as the MSDGC courses, but there are more wide-open scenic holes, which are shot very well. Placement and synchronization of camera work is excellent. The inclusion of hole-by-hole graphics indicating tee and basket position is fantastic, and a feature that I hope every disc golf DVD includes moving forward. The commentary is pretty good, I personally wasn't too put off by the William Goodpull stuff, although I am glad it was only for the first round. Showing the top two cards on each hole really gave me a great look at all the different ways the top pros approach each hole. The extras aren't as good as MSDGC, but a very good effort and still very cool. One thing I came away from this DVD saying was 'Holy crap, Dave Feldberg is a putting machine'... Overall: 8/10
2006 USDGC Lead Card:
This DVD is the best example of what I'm personally looking for in a filmed disc golf round. By far the best commentary of these four discs, thanks to Schultz and Schweb, and Billy Crump who helps steer the conversation. The amount of insight you get about the execution(or lack thereof) of each shot, including disc selection, risk/reward analysis where appropriate, is fantastic for a true DG fanatic. Obviously having Winthrop Gold as the setting helps tremendously, and like the Skylands DVD the hole-by-hole graphics are a great touch. A slight bummer is that Barry runs away with first, and while it's a little bit closer, Schweb never really has a scare for second, meaning there's not a lot of tight competition. My only other complaint would be... I want more!! It would be a tremendous amount of work, but if future USDGC discs could have the lead card footage for the final three rounds, along with including MSDGC-style 'highlight reels' of great putts, drives, and upshots, I think I'd have a disc golf DVD I'd be willing to spend $50 on. Overall: 9/10

$20-$30 is a little much for what I get on the dvds, but I still buy them to support disc golf and I love to watch. I would definitely pay more for higher quality and/or more quantity(multiple discs). Maybe something to consider would be a cheap no thrills package for $20 and a directors cut/bonus footage pack for more.

I was very disappointed with the 2006 pro worlds video. coverage was poorly executed, video was short. Most the coverage for early rounds was just a few shots here and there of the top 10 or so, then the finals were just so so.

That's definitely one of the things I like best about MSDGC DVDs - they show a hole map before each hole played. And there is a nice option to get a tour of the hole by pressing a button while watching and then you drop back into the competition. Neat.
