So I couldnt resist posting this on the discussion board. In a recent round I was playing with two other good players, I was first on the teepad on hole 3, its a nice hole staight up hill on a steep bank, anyway I release the perfect throw and bang, ace right on the dot in the center of the basket. After the congratulationst Steve Welck steps up and bang, another ace right in the sweet spot. Now this was definately the most surreal thing I have witnessed in my life of playing the sport, we couldnt believe it happened.

So now, heres the third guy Devin with the opportunity of a lifetime, he can complete something I doubt has ever been done in the sport, 3 guys all acing off the tee......well perhaps the pressure was too great but he didnt get it....but the chance to do it was probably once in a lifetime if youre lucky for sure.

Im wondering how many people have witnessed anything like this and just how rare is the back to back ace? anybody out there with that third ace oppportunity?

I've seen back to back aces in a playoff. That was pretty sick.

I have seen doubles partners in a non-sanctioned event ace the same hole in best shot doubles back to back.
Player one tees off, aces hole #4 at Vollrath in Sheboygan Wisconsin(~220ft, straight on with many trees) Player 2 tees off, aces the same hole. It was quite the uproar. Player 2 did not even have to tee, but did anyway for some reason.
After the day was complete, i believe the team had a total of 4 aces. As one player aced in the morning during practice, and player 2 got another ace during the alternate round.

playing a casual round a player aces the hole everyone gives him $5. next player steps up aces first guy gives the money right back.

just heard monday a player at a local course, Farm Life, aced hole 10 stepped up to hole 11 and got the back to back aces.

A friend and I were on hole #16 at Brushy Creek in Round Rock, TX and heard #15's chains go ching. One of us shouted back, "Nice ace," and a guy in their group told us it was his first career ace. A few minutes later we were finishing up on #18, and ching on seventeen...same guy, second career ace. Brushy Creek #15 (205'); #17 (218') (April? 2007)

Player 2 did not even have to tee, but did anyway for some reason.

Player 2 had an opportunity for an all-too-rare penalty-free practice shot for one thing...also, who can stand at the tee of a tasty, salivation inducing ace run and not take a shot at it??....especially after you've just seen how it's done...

My brother and I both aced the same hole in a casual round....despite my ace, I was still last on the tee for the next hole.

At the time I think I estimated we were getting aces about once every 2,000 holes --- our local course is Earlewood, with lots of opportunities --- so the odds of back-to-back were about 1 in 4 million.

At the Solsun Memorial in Kzoo, MI, I think it was 2005. After a night of Bell's and camping, Joe Monteith started his round with an ace on his first hole, I think it was hole 23. Then he aced #24. So he started out at -4 after 2 holes.

Dave K had 4 aces at the Michiana Open in 04 or 05 with 2 of them being back to back.

Hey, Al -

Glad to hear you Maui guys are still getting some golf in. (An islander just recently contacted me and now has copies of some DGL shows to submit at one of your stations, I'll let you know when I hear more.)

Back in '00, Rock Searle aced two holes in a row during Worlds, but alas, the subsequent hole measured out at 350' or so, thus a three-peat wasn't really a possibility.

I hope all is well in HI.

At a league event, we've had the first guy hit the pole and then the next two stick their aces.

I've also seen a guy (named Guy, in fact) get his 1st & 2nd aces on consecutive holes for the individual back-to-back aces.

A couple of weeks ago, playing with somebody out for his FIRST round of disc golf (although I think he'd spent some time in the field w/ my brother) we had this happen. A friend aces hole 13 at Ottawa Park as we're walking up to it, easiest hole on the course of course... but still, ace happens. The guy playing his first round ever says "Man I don't think I'll ever do that..."

And he honestly hadn't thrown over 150 all round. This hole was 210. He stepped up, threw a newbie hyzer, and right in the basket. Ace. First round ever.

He's been out more in the past few weeks than me. I think he's an addict now.

thanks joe, great job with the show, keep up the good work we appreciate the effort. Not sure who you talked to, probably someone on oahu, it might be easier there, I know here on maui one needs to take a class before they can get on the air, however steve is making progress on course over on the west side.

at our mini last Tuesday at Lamar Park here in Corpus Christi, our ace pot had risen to just over $270, which is quite unusual because a lot of aces are hit there, one of our newer players, Justin ?, not only aced hole 1 but aced it both times(nine hole course, we play twice during minis). One of the shorter holes on the course, but still an amazing feat!!!

This past Sunday at the Sun Valley Open in La Mesa, CA Brittney Breed got an ace on her last hole and on her last throw of the tournament! Her ace was the only one of the tournament and netted her a $100 bounty from the manager of the course. She also won the Advanced Women's Division - quite a haul over the weekend.

I did the same thing several years back at a tournament in Ardmore, OK. The TD was starting to set up a portable for a throw-off for the Ace pot, and my group was on the last hole, a blind hole, with the basket near some shule. A wife of one of my cardmates was spotting. I threw a beat-up Aviar, saw it go out of sight, then looked at the lady, who said "It's...an...ace!"

Yessir, got the ace pot, and that extra stroke got me last place Masters cash!

I aced hole #8 and Hole #12 at Myles Kimmerly in a non-sanctioned doubles tournament round. Left with an ace pool payout of $6 dollars.

Also, Ken Gill and Matt Toy had back to back aces on a 50/50 hole at the March Mush in Michigan earlier this year.

A few years ago at a match play event in Madison, WI, two players were tied going into the last hole of the finals when one of them aced it. An ace to break a tie on the last hole to win an event...doesn't get more dramatic than that!!!
