Can someone describe in detail what these two terms mean for discs?
Does the meaning change by manufacturer? ( I have only seen these terms for Innova)
Thanks.

I believe that x-outs similar to ball golf x-outs are discs that are approved for play, but do not meet the manufacturer's standards do to a minor imperfection, usually only visual.
As for factory seconds......the same holds true in the technology industry, but Im not sure in the DG technology, although I suspect it i s another name for x-outs.

The two terms are one and the same.

I thought x outs are in the molding (chocolate chips, bubbles in the rim, indentions, etc) and factory seconds were with hot stamp problems.

Nope, I've got lots of factory second discs with bubbles in rim, indentions, and chips. Some have no hotstamp except for the Factory Second stamp.
Here is one I sold that is messed up where the plastic was injected. You can see it clearly in the middle.

To me it seems like X out discs always have the X out stamp on them. You see the factory second stamp show up on the disc along side the original stamp. Thats the only difference I have noticed.

we use the terms x outs and Missed stamped.
X-outs have cosmetic blemishes or in some cases short shots that have sink marks on the wing.
Missed stamps are when part of the hot stamp is missing some foil or it is not lined up properly!
