Kind of considering this... anyone else down. It sucks to miss the Steeler game though. I'll have to tape it. Anyone interested in carpooling?

DIRECTIONS to Pymatuning State Park DGC
From Pittsburgh: Take I-79 North to Exit 130 towards Greenville (Rt 358W). Head in to Greenville, then Turn Right on Rt 58 towards Jamestown. Once you reach Jamestown you'll go straight through the only traffic light, onto Rt 322 West. Follow about one and a half miles to park entrance on right. Follow the park road around and to the left (North) until you see a practice basket. This is the course head, with the back nine going one way and the front the other. This is known as the Beach 2 area of the park.

Rex....you can catch a ride with me, Dave and Sid. The brothers are meeting me in the Cranberry area and we'll be taking my van up to the course. Registration is from 7:30-8:15 with players meeting at 8:30...so we'll need to hit the road before dawn.
We're planning the logistics tomorrow.....

Allright, let me know what's up when you get it together. It sure would help to catch a ride. 1-724-378-1639. I could probably get to your place before you head to Cranberry and leave my car at your place if that's cool. This will be a fun ride with us snoring on the way up.
I appreciate the offer. Did you guys notice gas prices are going up big again... doesn't make any sense for me to drive by myself that far.

I wonder if the TD for this event could provide a list of registered players? (hint, hint) :D

For those of you who chose to stay home and watch the Steelers game, you missed a great day at Pymatuning State Park. The weather was absolutely perfect..... :D
Great course, too!

Great course, too!
Not to mention a very competitive and intense 3 way competition for the title...won by PFDS's own Jerry Gotcher! ...Who also walked away with a Mach Lite basket in our CTP giveaway. Go Jerry!
And let me give a shout out to Bill Flynn, who decided to play the morning of the event and wound up winning his first PDGA title (Adv Master)!
FYI we'll be running something monthly out here regularly and we'll try to be mindful of conflicts.
Thanks to those that made the trip up and we'll see you next time!

That was sooo much fun. Beautiful course. 3 way tie with me, Jerry and Rich with 8 holes to play. That was some intense golf. Most fun I have ever had playing in a tournament. Amazing shots were made, and 1 less than amazing PUTT on the last hole ;)
How bout getting those scores posted!!

You mean the 15 footer to tie that I airballed, oh, 5 feet right and only about 2 feet off the ground? Ah well, my wife and kids are cute, right?
I'll figure out the posting mechanism and get er' done...so we can just get our prior ratings confirmed ;)

OK guys, the scores are posted. Don't panic when you see the round ratings. I don't believe there is a way to indicate WHICH course was played with these prelims, so it assumes we all played the same course. When they confirm the official results, it'll all get squared.
For the record, the open players played GOLD tees and pins out there. The AM1 and MM1 played BLUE, and the AM2 played WHITE.

For whatever reason, I don't see round ratings on the score sheet.
Thanks for running this event, Rich. You designed a heck of a course up there. It'll take some time (and word of mouth), but I think more and more players will discover the best kept secret in Pennsylvania. I still like the idea of a two-day event featuring Moraine and Pymatuning...

For whatever reason, I don't see round ratings on the score sheet.
There aren't enough propagators to generate round ratings. You can, however, use the World Class Par Excel spreadsheet to generate unofficial round ratings for competitors. You'll have to calculate them separately for each division and they'll be based on the limited number of players with PDGA player ratings in each division, and could be highly suspect.

No, it just means you'll have to wait until the next ratings update to get them. The online calculator won't generate round ratings without the required number of propagators with PDGA player ratings. The only way to get unofficial round ratings in the meantime is to use the spreadsheet link I posted.

So according to that cool little program, the ratings for us would have been 967 for me, 975 for Rich, and 978 for Jerry. Which sounds about right to me. I think Rich's 62 was definitely near 1000 rated. We definitely played some good golf.

Sep 27 2007, 09:07 AM
Hey Deitz....those ratings are close to what we suspected they might be. I guess we'll have to see what the ratings folks decide those rounds are worth. I would agree that RG's score of 62 should be around a 1000.....

So listen...
I'm doing that thing where I cut my hair with a beard trimmer and my little girls are hanging out, talking about my "little hair"...then the 5 y.o. says, "some men have lots of hair." I look at her with a curious expression and she says, "remember at the disc golf that man with really big hair?" (she giggles) "He had hair like a girl!"
Classic.
