The Pittsburgh Flying Disc Society (http://pfds.org/leagues.html) hosts monthly tournaments at two of our world-class courses, Deer Lakes and Moraine State Park. Both of these courses offer three different sets of tees, so the question is how should we determine which tees are played during our monthly doubles tournaments?

I don't live near Pittsburgh and don't have much of an opportunity to play in PFDS monthlies, but I think the best solution is to conduct a majority vote amongst the players in attendance that day or leave the decision up to the TD's choice. (who would hopefully weigh player opinion into the decision) I don't think you can make a schedule up ahead of time or randomly choose tees because weather conditions and player turnout and makeup will vary dramatically throughout the year. You may want to use red tees on a day when there is a significant turnout of novice, recreational, and intermediate golfers. You may not want to use gold or blue tees when weather is a significant factor. In December it might be 60 degrees and sunny like it was last December 2006 when I was in town for NYE, or it might be below freezing and dumping snow.

The tee choice may need to be adjusted on the fly, whether that be the player's majority vote or that of the TD.

That was Mace Man's idea...but, for the record, it sure was fun to play that layout (especially after a blue-tee round). :D

We have yet to contest a doubles match from the white tees. Possibly the October monthly?

That's another layout which has yet to be contested. Based upon the poll results thus far, we'll probably conduct a vote for tee preference the day of the event... :)

I like the Green tees the best.

How about a Mini round from the Gold's at Moraine, will that also be voted on?
