Any reason why DDC is at 1pm on Friday other than say... when normal people get off work around 5ish? Seems like it would be a sruggle for most people to attend at the current posted time.

I can't speak for past years, but this year, the football team has the field reserved from 6 PM on.

Typically with the number of teams that normally show up and the number of matches that need to be played it takes all afternoon.
Also, the football folks learned from last year that they need to reserve the field very early in the year. Which, they did this year. So we have to be done by 6PM.

If we're doing it on a softball field with lights, sunlight wouldn't be an issue. The football teams reserving the field makes sense though. Thanks guys. Looks like I'll be taking a half day.

So what exactly is DDC? I don't think I've ever heard the term before. And if I were so sign up for intermediate the only thing that would count for me in the tournament is the actual rounds but I can still do events. Is that correct?

This depends on what you mean by "count" All Professional divisions and all Amateur divisions will be competing for an overall title. There will be winners for golf, distance, putting, MTA, DDC, and accuracy. Players will receive points from each event to crown an overall winner as well. Each event will have a payout though. The majority of the payout will be with the golf though. Amateurs do not have DDC counted towards the overall title but all other events will count.
The field events are a lot of fun and I would encourage everyone to play them.

Tee times are 9 AM both days.
There will be no players meeting either day. There will be a players information sheet available when you sign your card. If you ask me something that is covered on the information sheet do not be surprised if I don't answer or I give you a very sarcastic answer.
Penn Station Subs will be taking orders both Saturday and Sunday. Please consider ordering lunch from them as they are one of our sponsors. Hint, hint, people. This means the more subs we order the more sponsorship money will be added to the event.
This will be included on the players sheet: Warning anyone that discards a cigarette butt on the ground during the event will automatically be DQ'ed. Those of you that continue to do this know who you are. If you are ADHD don't forget to take your Ritalin.

Here are some excerpts from my responses to a series of email questions about the putting contest:
A forehand putt injects an element of difficulty into a competition that would generally be very easy for some folks.
Also, a forehand putt can be a useful tool.
Especially if you are 80' out and down hill through the trees from a basket. (obscure reference to a throw in at Hickory this past weekend)
Do you like all of the angles for the accuracy competition? Or that you have to use Zephyrs?
How about where we have to throw distance from?
How often do you throw MTA shots? Accuracy? DDC?
Wouldn't you prefer to throw Accuracy with something other than a light weight Zephyr?
The entire concept of an overall event (if you are golf oriented) is to get you out of your comfort zone and throw shots you don't normally throw.
Captain

Yes.
However, you will need to sign your leader board card on Saturday morning.

Am's have a dollar value listed for payout which was actually vouchers to spend on items that we had in stock.
Amateurs are also included in the DDC sheet only because it was easier to compute this way. But all Am's got 44 points for DDC so there is not advantage/disadvantage for anybody since it was applied to all.
