That does not mean anything. Some TDs just pay the required 80% so the added cash just makes it 100% pay out. Looking forward to playing in this event.

Twisted1
Aug 24 2007, 12:36 PM
As Kevin said... There is now $1100.00 added cash to throw at you Pro Players...
The AM Players pack is PHAT! But when is it not at a Twisted event??? Retail value is currently at 22.00...
There is a FREE CTP for EVERYONE on the ISLAND Hole that consists of a 2007 USDGC Collectors Roc, a piece of USDGC Clothing (as we are the official outfitter of the USDGC), a CFR Disc and a goodie from Innova...
There will be the normal Twisted Ring of Fire which usually puts another 200.00 to 400.00 worth of goods into the players hands...
It is the innaugural event at the LODGE... You can be the first measured group ever on Kev's best design ever. YOUR ENTRY INCLUDES YOUR $5.00 PER DAY GREEN FEES...
And of course if no one hits an ACE (Kev says there will be 4) we get to throw off for that money as well.
So there you have it... Just the same ol' Twisted Flyer event it has always been... and I'm still working on it. :D
Twisted1
Aug 24 2007, 12:42 PM
I also have boxes arriving DAILY! So far in are the new 1080's, Twisted Gateway... yep... I said Gateway, Innova CFR's as well as a few of the new saucey D models... Discraft Flex and I also have the new "Pro Style" Twisted Hats and of course PIMP stripes... ONCE AGAIN WE ARE NOW OFFICIALLY AT $1100.00 added cash. If your not IN Pawhuska for this grand event... your missing OUT!
ALL This being said... It's PHAT TRACK!
Liz, Danielle will be there and I would imagine a few others from the surrounding areas. Tell Jeremy R to hop over as well. IMO if anyone was planning to come to Oklahoma to golf this year... this event and the Oklahoma Open A Tier will not leave you feeling like you made a bad decision.

Everyone that knows me, knows that I am very vocal about what I like and don't like. First off I DID NOT SEE ANYTHING I DID NOT LIKE, just to get that out of the way.
Normally I would type for 30 minutes about a great day golfing, great hosts, best TRACK in OKLAHOMA, the jeep round and times with some of my best friends... It would fill a page for sure.......
But I choose not to tonight. Simply because it WAS SO MUCH FUN I DON'T WANT TO SHARE IT UNTIL I HAVE TO.
KEVIN... Great design, Great work and I can't say enough how PROUD I am to have you and Court on the team.
No hype... real feelings. It was that cool.
Much more manyana...
The bar has been set to "Osage Style".
BTW if you know my posts you know I like Smileys and I use them tons... tonight NONE of them applied here... I was never that question mark dude ever... and MY smile was bigger than any of the happy ones!!!
Thanks Again Jim, Debbie, k-MACK and DA for a great day.

Wheeeew Weeee... My dogs are sore today. Can't imagine that second round without the jeep golf cart! Kevin you did a great job on that track for SURE.
Ok kiddo's here it is... Besides the normal PHATness of a Twisted Flyer event you can expect...
An on site massage station
ONE or TWO Live Bands
Disc Golf Challenge on Saturday Night
A MOBILE GALLERY... YEP BLEACHERS BEING PULLED AROUND THE COURSE FOR THE FINAL NINE.
New Showers
Great FOOD
GREAT PEOPLE
and few things I just refuse to let out yet.
The LODGE is awesome as it is now... Once the grass fully grows in and the track gets worn in it will be hands down the best course in OKLAHOMA. Don't miss out on your chance to be there. Nothing I can type here can accurately portray what they have going on down at the lodge.
BTW although I saw MANY discs go in the water on the Island hole... NONE of them were mine! I can't wait for this weekend.

Ron,
You and Karen drive safe. Don't worry about terrain... The camp grounds are on a ball golf driving range. Showers close by... Barefoot style green grass. The rough terrain....... K-Mack put it on the course! :D
NOTE TO ALL... Camp sites will be level green grass close to event central just off the "Disc Golf Challenge" site. Jim has a few school busses that he has stripped of the seats (bet you'll see those on the mobile gallery) and installed air conditioners in the windows, they will offer camping in those for the tentless. This is a very nice, safe, PRIVATE environment and the staff will be doing everything we can to insure safety and good times by all. :D

Funny thing... The way Jim and Deb roll... they have 3 complete quality sets... Bag and all... all the way down to the putter (2 righty bags... 1 lefty bag)and their range balls are NIKE. Kid you not... Dustin Allen and Corey Poteet and I were doing a disc golf driving comp for $$$ (BTW the 185 yard roller took em')and the focus on the pad quickly became the fact they had not only 3 sets but a lefty set with Nike Balls and it's FREE.
The disc golf challenge site will be off to the right of the driving range so we can do some competition with the clubs for sure.
Rest assured... The Lodge is special. This place will be a force to be reckoned with by golfers of all levels from all tee's.

I do have to attend a soccer tournament this weekend. :(
It wasn't a hard choice, my son only grows up once and this soccer tournament for him is the equivilent of lets say, the OO for most local disc golfers.
I hate to miss out on what will be a great weekend in Pawhuska but I'm sure that course will see much more of me in the future. ;)
For those going to Pawhuska this weekend:
1. no pull carts
2. take bug spray, there are a few chiggers around in the tall stuff.
3. Leave no trash or cig butts on the course
4. have a stool to sit on.
5. take a swim suit or cut offs to cool off in the pond. (this is for the country boys, the city boys can watch)
6. carry at least two bottles of water on the course
7. Have fun and be sure to thank Jim and Deb, the owners. :D

Hi, Kevin-
(Tried to PM you, but that wouldn't go through...)
I hope you and your family are all settling in well together. I'm sure fatherhood has been good in a lot of ways and will only get better with time.
It would be great to feature your new course on my show. If you'd like to put something together (or just get me the raw footage) I'd love to help share your course with others. I'm thinking you could describe some of the best holes, shoot some video of those holes, and talk about the design and land use considerations. Its such a "next generation" course from the bits I've seen, so a discussion of the changing designs of our courses would make sense. Maybe someone could gather footage during your upcoming event, and you could create some b-roll commentary after the fact to tell the story or talk about course.
Let me know what you think.

Joe-- You did it again. Truly an excellent event start to finish. I may not play often, but I'm always willing to get Twisted up and lay it down at your events. Looking forward to the next time we can hook it up.

Your signature line:
I once lost to PEE-WEE
became an instant classic now knowing that you took down McCoy and Coda in their home state on one of their premier courses. Lots of 1000 rated players below that 975. :DToo bad Final 9's dont get averaged. 1058. Boom.

Congrats to Miles....He defiantly stepped up and took advantage of Coda and I struggling around the course on sunday...He saw his opportunity and grabbed it by the horns....Gotta give him big props for his first big win!
Thanks all for coming to the LODGE it will be bigger and better the next time around....Jim already contacted me and inquired about laying concrete pads. We wanted to see how it went before we invested the money and the work into pouring concrete out there, but Jim really enjoyed the event and all the cool people so he wants it bigger and better for next year.
Possibly an A-Tier next year, Since the Oklahoma Open may be moving to the spring next year ;)

I think the Open field had $400 added, Masters had $100.
We also had $500 in skins for the top 4 Open players, 2 women and top 2 Masters.
Miles/Liz $0
Coda/Danielle $0
Kevin/Kyle $425 :D:D

Don't get ahead of yourself Lee. Miles played good on a course that was kind on his game, distance. Why don't you ask him how many strokes he got beat by at red and black hawk on mon.
It was nice seeing a Texan go up there and beat the 3 best okies out there. Pay out was no where near Crowley. :D

Just some constructive criticism from an outsider (who loves all of the above players) looking in: Those teams aren't even close to being equal. That mixed skin stuff only works if you have 4 open women to pair up with the 4 open men. Bringing Mitch and Kyle in to play against Liz and DV isn't right.

First off I just want to thank Coda, Kevin and Ron. Playing with you three all weekend was something I will never forget! I learned more this weekend about the sport just watching you guys then I have the entire time I have been playing open. Hopefully I will earn the opportunity of playing with you all again at some point.
And yes its true. Mr. Jake took 12 bucks from me alone in dollar skins. I was so out of it mentally from sunday that there wasnt ANYTHING left in the tank. One of those mornings where nothing worked. It truely was a humbling day! :DThe best part though had the be Chris pulling out a lime green disc he found and throwing it on a water hole over the lake, first hole of the triangle, whichever one that is? He hyzers it right into the lake. Two holes later we are talking about it and Chris says it was a Tee Rex he found. Jake says 169? Chris says yep. Jake says that mine! Brand new! He turns around all hacked off and throws his drive into the lake. So now he has two discs in the lake. One of which he didnt throw. It was priceless. :D

That putt is actually from a 5 foot circle of where Coda, Myself and Ron( times 2) missed from.....It's about 16-21ft of fury I swear there is a force field guarding that basket from that spot on the green....Need to find a cool nickname for that spot ;)

I totally agree
First of all The Lodge, is the BOMB. Jim, Deb, and the Staff have created a wonderful experience. My hats to K-Mac for the course design. I love the Blues. Next Joe Ro and Twisted Flyer threw it down and it was certainly Twisted. Everything from the camping to the food and golf was wonderful. I will be back to this place for sure. The stories that could come out of the camp site will lets just say huh. The island hole oh the island hole. I still have one of my putters in that water. The image of that hole is instilled in my head like the picture on my wall. As much as that 3 circle 8 hurt, the environment I was in helped it as much. What a fun time. In the end what more could I ask for good friends, good golf, and a new truly amazing facility. Even though it was 400+ miles for us I am certainly glad we made the trip and we will do it over and over again. I have always been a big fan of private golf courses and for those of you that did not make it this time be sure and put this on your calendar when the next one comes around.
Peace.

That is why skins suck. I pushed the first 7 holes and then Jake took them with a 2. I smoked both of them by score. I shot a 57 jake was around 62 and miles shot 66.
And the skins should have used the Am Women instead of the masters, and more money going to skins then to payout was a little weak.

cgflesner
Sep 05 2007, 06:27 PM
Whatever.
The course was great, Joe did a good job runing the event, and the skins parings were a joke. Two 1000 rated pros vs a pro men and pro women where you have to play worst, alt, and tough shot. No surprise that all the skins were won by the stacked teams. Coda and Miles had no chance to win any skins, maybe push one on the island hole.
And the skins with Jake and Miles have nothing to do with the tournament. Maybe you should stick to subjects that you know somthing about.

I know I am a little after the fact here... But yeah the tournament was great. The course was awesome. Congrats to K Mack and the Taylors on that. It was very impressive, and those Tee Signs were the icing on the cake! I can't wait to get out there again. This was my first Okie tourney, and my first Twisted event, and I am soooo glad I made it out!

Sorry to bring up an old thread. But anyone know when the final info will be sent in for this thing? I could really use the ratings and I think its a bit ridiculous that its been almost 2 months and nothing yet. I know Twisted has been very busy with USDGC and now the OO. But I would just like to see this one finalized. Not meaning to bash anyone or talk bad about the tourney, but seriously.
