For all the players that came to the PIASO in Crowley. If you thought that Tom ran an excellent tournament, then you are not going to want to miss this one. This course is on a ball golf course and is one of the best courses ever. I am sure that the payout will be big as usual. Sign up now and reserve your spot for this event.

October 6, 7 2007 in Duncan, Ok.
There are plenty of cheap hotels in the area or you can camp right on the course.

OK I was out at the course yesterday and unfortunately there will have to be a couple of changes to the course due to the flooding that took place a couple of months ago.

The good news is the Windmill Hole and the **** Tree Hole are still intact and very playable and will not change. The rest of that good news is that we will get to use some of the (almost) permanent set up. We will be playing 27 holes each day, 15 out of the 18 original holes, 3 new holes and 9 of the future permanent holes. We will be playing by Tee Times and everyone will start on Hole 1.

By having Tee Times and playing 27 hole rounds, we can take up to 200 players, which means I don't have to turn anyone away. The bad news for all you procrastinators is you have to register by Aug 5, (Friday) and I will be unable to take any Saturday Registration since the first group will go out at 7:28am.

I am working on having a special for anyone who wants to play ball golf on the front 9 during the weekend. :D

Look forward to another fun weekend, 27 holes each day and lots of time to relax and enjoy the food and drink and other games.

Register Here (http://www.txokdg.com)

Oh I almost forgot to mention the added cash and prizes....Over $1500 cash added to the Pros and lots of other stuff added for the Ams, including players packs for the Ams. Look for something special to be in the first 75 Players Packages.

The course is looking SWEEEEEEETTTTT!!!!!!!!

The new holes we are adding are going to be a complete contrast opposite from the holes on the ball golf course. These holes are going to require precision or you'll be having more fun :)

Please remember I need to have all registrations by Friday Oct 5 so I can have everyone's Tee-Time posted.

A fun time is in order for all in attendance!!

Sep 20 2007, 12:42 PM
Well the Open is almost here, just about 2 weeks away. The course is looking fantastic!! The staff out at the course is excited to host Disc Golf for another year. We are still looking for a few extra Discatcher Sport baskets. We have enough for 21 holes, but we still need 6 more. Please contact me if you can help!! We will take what we can get, but would prefer to have the same baskets throughout the course.

As you know, we will be using Tee-Times this year and we will need to have registration complete by Friday evening at 8:00 so we can post Tee times. The order of Times will be Rec, Int, Adv, Pro. Once I get a better handle on the number of players, I'll be better able to estimate the times for each division. I can tell you now, the Rec division Tee Times will begin around 8:00 am and groups will tee every 10 minutes from that point on.

We will be playing 27 holes in the round and you will be through for the day. This will make for a relaxed and fun weekend and you will still play 54 holes of golf on a great course. And yes the camping is still right next to the course.

You can go to Texas Oklahoma Disc Golf (http://www.txokdg.com) and register online or Print a Registration to mail in.

This year is going to be a blast, Starting on Friday Oct. 5, we will have a Ball Golf Challenge for any that are interested that will continue into Saturday. Details will be coming very soon.

See you there.

Right now, we'll be using a couple of Mach II, which will take away from the continuity, but we must do what we must do. And of course, everyone plays the same baskets. :) Thanks, any idea what time you'll be in town???

I am amazed that we have $1,500 in added cash, at least $1,000 going to Open and we only have 5 Open players registered. Does no one else want to take home the added cash?

We are throwing $250 in the Long Drive and $250 in the Putting Competition, so all together with Food, drinks and extra cash we have added close to $2,500. I know this is not the USDGC, but not everyone can go there. Coda is at USDGC, I think Nolan is there also, so where are all the other Open players??

Chris, Brice, Dannie, Miles, Michael, looks like you guys get to fight it out for the cash.....did you guys scare everyone off??:D:D:D

BTW Happy Birthday Chris.

Thanks Josh, I too am looking forward to this one, Saturday night is going to be a blast. No bands, but we will have music pumped in to the Driving Range, which will be lighted with plenty of food and drink available.

We will be having "Homey Turbo Distance" the winner will take down an extra $125, $75 for 2nd and $50 for 3rd.

We will also be having "Homey Can You Putt" competition with the same prize money as the distance gig.

If you think you have been in a distance or putting contest before, don't think you know what we are doing, this one will make you say "Hey Homey, you say we doin what?" Just get ready for some added fun and cash, if my addition is right, that is another $500

Brownlow did take the cash. As for the rolling deal, it was kind of cool, i guess. We had to rolled those things slightly downhill, with a righty wind ( dalton sucked it up :D) and on very nice ball golf driving range grass. The only downside was they didnt pick up all the golf balls off the range. So it was like throwing into a mine field. I got second with one that rolled 483 feet. It was interesting to say the least.

The Turbo roll was just that, rolling Turbo Putters. It was something fun to do while have an old fashioned hambuger cookout with a keg on the driving range. It was only meant for fun and not to be taken seriously. Michael however, did throw a great one that just kept on going.

Okay, I have a few words about the tournament.

1st. Saturdays round did suck. I did not space the cards out properly and it caused a major slow down in play. I know it, I stated I was aware of it, it affected me too and yes I have heard about it enough. Sunday the problem was fixed, the cards were properly spaced and the slow downs were very minimal and for the most part play was very smooth on Sunday.

2nd. There was $1,500 in cash added to the Pro purse. $1,000 to Open, $350 to Master and $150 to Grandmaster.

3rd. We collected $1,405 in Am entry fees and Am prizes, including Player Packs (T-Shirt and Mini) totaled $3,250.00.

4th We fed everyone on Saturday night, including non-players at no extra cost, including 2 kegs of beer, gave away an additional $500.00 in cash for silly Turbo Distance and Putting games. Then we gave away about $500.00 worth of stuff at a ring of fire.

Last year we had 59 players and we did similar things giving away similar amounts. This year we had 68 players. For those of you that could have come but didn't, you missed a great course, some fun and your only opportunity to play this course as it sits. It will never be the same again.

I am not going to run any tournaments next year. I am through. There will be a permanent course installed at Twin Oaks and it will be a quality layout. I am determined to make it one of the best courses in the region. (I DID NOT SAY THE BEST, I SAID "ONE OF THE BEST) The next time there is a tournament at Twin Oaks, it will be by INVITATION ONLY, all the perks will still be there, all the added cash and prizes will still be there, but I WILL NOT be the TD. I have a successor already hand picked to carry on the tradition that has been started there.

Just so you know about the rest of the tournaments I have run in the past, some of them WILL continue, but the TD WILL CHANGE.

I hope everyone remembers the fun, and I'll see you on the course as a player, not the TD.

And btw: Whoever the person is that ran over the basket on hole 6 in the golf cart, please know your game will suck for sometime coming since you did not come forward to admit it.

Well, it might just be no more chances for anyone on the course again. Sunday night a cart was discovered on the hole 3 bridge that had been slammed into the bridge!!:mad:and then abandoned.

The cart was trashed, the bridge was smashed and the driver did not even tell anyone they had the accident.

On Saturday night, someone ran over the basket on hole 6. The basket was bent up and yellow paint was found on one of the carts.:mad:

Again no reports.

I don't think the Ellsworth family was too happy with these events. If the culprits had just gone to someone and said "Hey we had an accident", things would probably be different, because accidents do sometimes happen and they understand that. What is not understood is someone NOT TAKING RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR ACTIONS!!!!!!!!!!!

I am not ending my days as a TD because of these events, but because I am going to play again and let someone else handle the reins.

I am suggesting that from this day forward the Twin Oaks Open (if it ever happens again) be on a different date and be an INVITATIONAL Event only.

I will pay for the damage out of my pocket, but I do not want to ever find out who did this, because I might not be too friendly to them.

This can be more damaging than that....we were on the verge of installing a permanent course on the adjoining property. The adjoining land is owned by the same family that owns the ball golf course. Now there has been a hold put on the installation.:mad: If it just had to do with not being able to rent carts, I wouldn't be quite so mad, but this has screwed up a championship course's installation.. :( :(

OK, I have the name of who did this, and I want everyone to know, that I DO NOT want this person's name out publicly, I want the person to come forward on their own, NO MUD SLINGING!!

So if someone out there knows who did this, please do not post anything regarding their name. You can post anything else you want about them as long as their name and any information identifying them is not posted. It is right for them to come forward on their own, it is not right for us to gossip and include names. The damage is done.
