What putter from each manufacturer do you believe is the best one they make?
I love discraft putters. I feel the magnet is a better putter than the challenger but many disagree.
Vote and let the polls do the talking....if I missed a few putters I apologize.

I thought the Whitler was a finesse mid-range disc, kind of like a roc.
You putt with something other than a putter, right?

the whitler is closer to a birdie than a roc, i.e. is closer to a putter than a midrange. if the wind isn't blowing i'll putt the whitler at least 50% of the time.

Didn't see the super puppy up there either.
The whole thing with aviars, there like 5 molds in 10 different plastics. If you putt with a JK, its basically just a KC in soft plastic. The same thing happens with the soft magnets, hard magnets and 3-4 different challengers.
IMO, the dx rhyno and pro rhyno are totally different because of the floppy plastic, but its not that big of a deal.

poll needs some work, just lump the different putters into groups, Innova: Aviar BB, Aviar no bead/small bead.
to many varieties of the same mold to worry about, or list all the others with their differences: Challenger, CT Challenger. the 5 different wizards that all fill like bricks no matter how many S's they have in their name

Exactly. The same men that throw JK Aviars probably own a set of female golf clubs and a seven pound bowling ball. It's okay guys, plenty of men have high levels of estrogen.

I know I really don't have to come to the rescue of the wizard, but I have 2 minutes today..
So you think Wizards fly like bricks????
I Think Greg Schwartz who just won am worlds would probably disagree.
If you mean they don't turn too (notice spelling of too) much left or right than I guess I would agree, but seeing as though so many people are using them, I doubt brick would be a good analogy, sounds more like a personal slash on the disc and company to me. (Jealousy is the highest form of flattery)so thanks!
I would agree that regardless of the flex almost all wizards fly the same, so I take the brick statement as a compliment to the discs design and engineering.
The fact is that wizards fly farther than almost all of the discs on the list, especially when thrown really hard. ( ask around) They also have decent float and glide for putting and retain their flight characteristics for a very long time.
Its great you have your favorite disc and company, but its BS statements like this that is keeping the growth of the game down and has for over 20 years.
If you don't like the wizard because it doesn't work well for you, thats fine, but maybe you should keep the negative comments to your self or possibly you could articulate your reasons better than,,,,,say,,,,,, a caveman!

Actually I was referring to how hard your discs are not how they fly.(I made a mistake and used fill instead of feel, sorry, stupid caveman) I do not for a second believe any Gateway disc I have ever felt would pass a PDGA approval flex test, in the basic "S" plastic.(I believe it is the S plastic, I'm referring to the plastic comparable to DX or Pro D)
Its great you have your favorite disc and company
I'm glad you know me so well, obviously a post on how to improve a poll says all there is to know about me. Would you also like to know I have thrown almost every disc released by your company, and discraft and innova and dga. I kinda think of it as a responsibility since I run a doubles league and golfers like to ask my opinion of different discs from different companies.
Sorry I could go on and on but I have actual work to do, but the cave man says [Edited.] and I will never recommend any of your products to anyone.

Some wizards get real nice and soft, it takes some play though to break in the rubber blends. I do find they have a little less glide than Aviars but I like that that makes them more wind resistant and faster fliers for driving :)

I've got stacks of Wizards, and second the statement that they do break in well. I also agree that they feel pretty hard when they are new, and I actually like that.
I putt with Aviars, and I have also noticed that the Wizard drops faster than the Aviar. That's OK too. They are both great putters! But I have to give the thumbs up to the Wizard, they are great for approaches and can, when you know how to throw them, compete with some awesome midrange discs.
I have a hard time voting for one or the other. And for that matter, I like a lot of other putters too. ;)

Another note:
The other day, a kid at the course came up to me with a Latitude 69 Zeroline Sinus AP while I was warming up with my Rocs. I gave it a toss and outdistanced my Roc(s). Pretty cool disc ... I don't think I've ever thrown an Aviar or Wizard that far. I didn't get a chance to putt with it, but it sure as heck is a good midrange!

I throw the Latitude 64' Sinus AP alot. It is very overstable and great for short drives. For putting in the circle It is average, but I love it for jump putts about 45 to 50 feet out. It always seems to just drop perfectly. I love that disc!

Hey Mr Cave-man, looks like I made a mistake based on your mistake, but what's up with the harsh words?
Your post was derogatory towards our products and it obviously was meant to be malicious.(you know it and anyone who read it knows it)
It was also uniformed as we have discs called Super stupid soft that are some of the gummiest, softest and most flexible discs I have ever seen. You made the reference to our way of marking the flex/surface complexion (S, SS and SSS) so I'm guessing you've seen the discs and are saying our SS and SSS still feel like bricks?
C'mon,,,,, C'mon,,,maaaaannn, be for real,,,,c'mon.
I thought my post was lighthearted enough and had smiley faces at the end. I guess the Geico reference was more funny to me, and somehow struck a nerve or something with you, it was meant to be a joke.
I didnt figure someone that wouldn't be afraid to lash out on our products in this public forum would be soooooooo sensitive.
Like most, I can see you can dish it out but cannot take it.
After the foul language and hostility I think you can remove apparently from your nick-name.

Not sure why anybody cares what one person thinks about the Wizard. It's obvioulsy a popular putter among the masses which tells you everything you need to know. I know Devan Owens and Justin Bougher have gotten lots of Tulsa guys throwing them.
The SS is the best Wizard ive ever felt or thrown but the magnet is the best putter out there IMO of course :D

Let me start by apologizing to every one for what I posted, no excuses, I was just having a bad day at work and took a cheap insult a little to personally.
Now as far as my first post, I had intended it to be a joke. How many people have held a Gateway "S" disc in their hands and wondered how they could be legal they are just so stiff. Guess I'm not the only one that cant take a joke.

I haven't handled an SSS, but the S and SS are both so **** solid. There's nothing soft about them, at least not in my hands. An Aviar P&A is kinda soft. An OmegaSS is TRUE supersoft. A soft challenger. Those are soft. There isn't anything soft about the soft and supersoft Wizards.
Now like I said, I haven't touched an SSS yet, so they could be awesome, but the others? Stiff. As. Hell.

Dave, my brother has been putting with Wizards for about a year and a half. And he's still using the same ones. Soft is DEFINITELY not a word I would use to describe them. It isn't a criticism, so no need to defend them. It simply is how the discs are: they are solid as hell. My brother loves them, I dislike them. It is all up to personal taste.

i don't know man... maybe it's just that particular run or something. i tried out some supersofts a few weeks ago just to make sure i wanted to stick with my meds. sure enough, the supersofts were TOO SOFT for me. i don't think you can describe a disc as TOO SOFT if it's a brick. these were not the SSS, just supersoft.
JHBlader86
Aug 04 2007, 12:25 AM
The SuperSoft's were a lil stiff when I purchased my first one, but after a break in period of about a month it became just as soft, if not softer than my JK's. I dont use it anymore because it got too beat up so I switched to the Soft E Wizard, but the SS's do break in quick and you will notice how truly soft they are, and how easily they stick to chains.

Aug 04 2007, 11:31 AM
I think Firm, Medium, and Soft are all relative. I wouldn't call a soft wizard soft by any means when compared to other soft putters. However it is softer than the mediums, or maybe less hard.

Aug 04 2007, 11:57 PM
Plain ol' Black DX Aviar for stable putts, a Glow Aviar for a touch putter and a Sinus SP for putting into the wind and upshots.
I've been incorparating a SE Rhyno into the mix but it's too flippy for a wind putter and doesn't have the glide the SP has so the SP gets to stay in the bag.
Too many putters? Perhaps, but they work.
