Just got this from the rumor mill. Looks like Crocs will be buying Bite Shoes ... could be some interesting [lime green] Bite shoes running around in the future. :p

MiTTenZZ just told me that one of the head Crocs salesmen who we're friends with was just on the phone with a Bite salesman who had seen the MSDGC DVD and knew of Mitch :)
He's been working with Marshall Street pressing Crocs for a while now to pick up disc golf sponsorship. Maybe the Bite disc golf line is the bait he needs to get them in finally?

I play in my Crocs all the time, only going to "hard" shoes colder, wet winter days. Worn with socks, yup dorky I know, they are very comfortable and stable.

Try Crocs All Terrains (http://shop.crocs.com/pc-129-4-all-terrain.aspx?reqid=129&reqProdTypeId=41p&subsectio nname=footwear&section=products)
Mitch golfed in them all winter out here and loved them! They're so lightweight that your feet still feel great at the end of the day, and of course waterproof.

No offense marshief, but those are the dorkiest shoes I've ever seen. I'll take a pair of Bite sandals, or my Primals over those any day. ;)
Oh, and yes, my feet might get wet. LOL
My favorite Croc site! (http://ihatecrocs.com/) No, I really don't hate Crocs ... I just think this is funny stuff.

Yes I am well aware of that... to make it worse Mitch has a pair in turquoise... just offering another option for winter golf footwear. Amazingly enough my DAD even got a pair of those in turquoise...
Believe me, no one knows how hideous Crocs are more than me. It's pretty tough having a fiance who works for Crocs and so has about 20 pairs in various styles and colors. Our closet is full of HIS shoes (not mine!). The only shoes other than Crocs that he wears are his Bite shoes for golfing and some New Balances for biking.

Yup, I work at Crocs and own tons of their stuff which is all super comfortable and hideously ugly. I'm actively working with marketing to try to get them to 'bite' on some sponsorship, especially with Bite Shoes jumping on board. We'll see if anything comes of it. All they need to do is put in $1M (which to Crocs is nothing) and they could own our little sport.

So...will the new Croc/Bite shoes look like Duck boots?

i wonder how much first run bites with the pre- croc stamp will go for on ebay in a few years? mine are slightly used but still have the flashing.
MiTTenZZ
Jul 31 2007, 10:30 AM
They'll look like duck boots complete with bill and eyes, maybe a couple 'speed feathers' on the side. Presumably, the new Bite shoes with the Croslite soles will have arch support so no worries about painfull feet, just really comfortable dry feet at the end of the day.

Croc IMITATORS are garbage. Once Crocs got popular, WalMart had a $9 version, nearly identical. WalMart is so cool.
Now everyone has a version. Wish there was a licensing system where Crocs got a cut of the copycats, but they are all overseas imitators... what can you do...
I'll tell you what you can do. Buy CROCS, not the imitators.

Crocs at least was suing all of the knock-off companies, but I'm not sure if they're still actively pursuing that because they'd be spending almost all of their time trying to keep up with the fakes. Skechers and Airwalks are the two that I can't stand. Skechers is really annoying me because they keep making the same new styles as Crocs and aggressively marketing them as their own designs. Anyway, from what I understand, most of the law suits have ended favorably for Crocs.
No matter what, though, you're going to get an inferior product if you don't buy Crocs. The Croslite material is trademark protected.
They've already incorporated the croslite into the Bite disc golf shoes, and are apparently showcasing it at trade shows. Mitch is trying to get his hands on a pair, but his boss keeps refusing to give him contact info for the guy at Bite (who knows of Mitch from the MSDGC DVDs!).

Mitch decide on USDGC? He's still got a few DAYS.
It's his decision and he's not really talking to me about it. He did pull out his letter the other day though. Schwebby told me that there will be a guy from Bite at TThe Championship, so I told him that Crocs should send Mitch as their rep. Ha. All he has to do is sell a few shoes on the side and play lots of disc golf the rest of the time.

Totally. I think I mentioned he should represent for Bite/Crocs. Get out here Mitch.

If Crocs paid for me to go and Bite sponsored me as well, I'd go. As it stands now, I have no money so i'm not going. Best wishes to everyone playing in the main event.
As for Crocs and Bite, I'm in contact with the right people at both companies (Yes Schweb, it's the same guy you contact at Bite) and we're trying to figure out what (if anything) is possible for next year. Bite has to re-do their sponsorship program for next year and re-do the budget now that Crocs can back them up. I still need to talk with the pres of Bite and see if I just start at the top, might be my best bet since he already 'knows' me through the MSDGC DVD's. We'll see and I'll keep the sport updated.

Just curious as to what is going on with the Bite site. I no longer see the Distance listed or any disc golf shoe for that matter. When I was down at the USDGC, there were several new styles on the table but I see none of these on the site. What's the dealio?

I got a comment about bites. they suck!!! I wore a hole in the toe in three months and I couldn't get them replaced. Don't sale DG shoes unless they can handle all DG wear and tear.

Love mine. Got lows for summer, Highs for winter. Even tore a leather loop for the laces prior to a year and the boots were replaced free of charge! Can't imagine wearing out the lug soles. The highs didn't stay waterproof for the full 10 months or so, but the use I put them through was pretty extreme. Just my experience with Bite!

I have never had any problems with mine, and the roomy box around the toes was perfect for my feet.
