I have a couple of the "pro-style" Plastic lightening discs in my bag and I really like them. I have a D-1 and an HX-2. (D-1 is a little longer and more overstable than my champ sidewinder and the HX-2 has become my longest driver) The discs have good grip and fly very well for me. I know that Lightening is kinda the red-headed step daughter in the disc golf world, but does anyone else use them? Is it gonna hurt my game long term?

I use to throw quite a few Lightning discs but left my bag very quickly due to very poor durability. They have some great molds and some of there newer plastic seems fairly durable. If they feel good to you and you like the flight keep throwing them. Just remember you'll probably have to by them by the stack.

I have found the "pro-style" plastic to hold up better than the other Lightening plastic that I would go through... yeah pretty much by the stack. Its kinda rubbery and makes a funny sound when you hit a tree, but they are lasting pretty well so far.

I thought this was going to be a thread about fading the colors of discs to white!

I love the #1 Hyzer disc as a sidearm mid-range. I always have one in the bag. I throw them fairly often. I have many of them. I can almost get it to bend ninety degrees in flight when I need to. The standard plastic does get nicked / scratched / cut / gouged pretty easily but it holds its shape and flight characteristics amazingly well in my opinion. No one around here throws Lightning anymore except rec players. Lightning seems to have a decent distribution system and if the local sports store carries golf discs they are usually Lightning. I think that competition from Innova and Discraft really hurt Lightning. Above all else, never let a nay-sayer keep you from throwing something that you like and can throw well.

I heard that the partners at DHI (devil hawk inc.) are looking into buying the lightning company, using the devil hawk plastic and calling all the discs devil hawks.
DH-1- driver
DH-2 driver
DH-1 putter and so on,,,,!
The devil hawk plastic should help with all the models!
