I was throwing from under a tree. A dead limb had fallen from high in the tree, but didn't make it to the ground. It was caught on a lower branch and hanging (behind my marker) where I wanted to stand. I could've easily removed the dead branch without harming the tree.
Is it legal to move the dead limb? Rule 803.05 C says "broken branches no longer connected to a tree" are casual obstacles. Is a broken branch suspended from another branch still "connected"?

not connected, move all you like as long as it's behind your lie.

i would say if its behind your lie, its ok to move. but i dont know if i considered something that was both dead and hanging before this. removing it might be a smart thing anyway from a safety standpoint.

My understanding is connected means attached as a living limb, not a dead limb hanging in the tree.
