Q-school is something you really can't explain. When it happens you will know. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

You would think that if Tulsa Laser and Cosmetic Dental Care can offer it, then there must be some type of small pill you can take while going to "Q" school that would allow you to barely remember that you were ever there.

Whether that is true or not, there is no need to advertise it on this message board, or out at a public park for that matter.
The people that get offended when someone says something about smoking on the course need to remember that it is public property. The dad with his son or daughter has the right to take his kid to the park without worrying about people smoking pot all around them. Being courteous, and cautious would be the best way to go about things. :D

agreed. if this stereotype did not exist i imagine there would be more youth in the sport and disc golf would be BIGGER and BETTER.

Then should we assume that is what has held back skate boarding, snow boarding and BMX from exploding into main stream sporting events?
Face it........its not a great spectator sport and with out that draw you lose out on sponsorship and media exposure. Disc is no more a mainstream sport today than it was 20 years ago. Granted there are more courses and more people playing now, but I don't expect to see it on ESPN 2, 3, 4, or on ESPN ocho any time soon.

I don't think the stereotype is the only thing. I don't know of very many college scholarships available for DG. I don't see that happening until DG becomes part of the PE in public schools. Even then a lot of the early history of stoners being associated with DG will never go away. Some of that might come more from the basic Frisbee and the free love, peace, and tie dyed 60's & 70's. Back in the days of "streaking". :)...Probably something your parents never told you about.
I'm not trying to take anything away for the beer and alchohol industries but one could assume that if stoners didn't exist, a lot of you young guys and gals might not even be here. :o
Given an alternative I would think that most parents that were stoners back then, or even now, would feel safer bringin their children to a park where there might be a few stoners playing DG, than a park with a bunch of gun toting gangsters. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
