DG Hall of Famer and Discraft founder Jim Kenner gets credit for naming the DITCH. ...and it really is all about the name. As a DITCH director, having Discraft in the title lends itself some prestige to the event. From the Discraft point of view, they love the team play format and now they are backing a (soon-to-be) great tournament in their own backyard.

it would be cool to see each manufacturer field a team for an event of this sort in conjunction with worlds.

Cool... didn't see any mention of Discraft or Jim Kenner anywhere in the info (other than the name of course), which is why I asked. So, are they really just allowing use of the Discraft name?

Discraft has some excellent camera equipment and a great cameraman in Brian Sullivan, so there has been talk of filming the event and either posting it on Discraft's website or making a DVD similar to Marshall Street or Worlds. Discraft has been interested in bringing team events to DG for a long time, but as we all know it takes a few people to step up to the plate and organize the event. So Scott and I are doing just that and Discraft will determine what level of support they will offer in the next month or two.

Also, we will rely on the advice and experience of proven great TD's such as Todd White (AmNats) and Pad Timmons (DGLO) to make sure our event is as polished, smooth and professional as can be expected of Discraft events.

Lastly, when I say "I'd like to thank my sponsor" during awards ceremonies, I truly mean it. Honoring Discraft by naming my first tourney after the company is the least I could do in exchange for all the support and amazing plastic they have given me.

WANTED: TEAM OUT OF STATE RINGERS, willing to travel to Michigan for a truly original and outstanding weekend Sept 8 - 9.

Need:
2 1000+ rated pros.
2 under 960 rated hot-shooters
2 three and four seeds, rated anything, but preferably in the 980 - 990 range.

My team upgraded me out for another female pro after she beat me last Saturday by a few strokes (boo to the fickle 101 team) so I'm retaliating by calling in favors from all the peeps I met on tour. Who wants a team play vacation?
