And did I mention the Glide is going to be a blast this year.

We are using the traditional 72 hole format.

At least $500.00 added Pro cash. The payouts are going to be great, based on the # of entrants I am anticipating.

I think we are through with the monsoon season in Tulsa so it's going to be a fun filled weekend.

More details to come...

I take it the tradition of paying the previous winners entry fee (as long as they move up) has been axed? I understand of course.

The only reason I REALLY want to know is because we are freaking broke! My wife's paychecks have been getting garnished for the last 2 months. Which leaves us with my income only. Paying our bills has been a struggle but it's all good. The thing that sucks the worst is no disc golf money :(

SOLUTION: I have about 15 pounds of aluminum cans in my garage which will be hauled to the recycle plant next week. I will get into this tournament one way or another, BELIEVE IT!

Watch out MA2's!

Thank you Kev, that is music to my ears. We will see how short I am after I turn in my cans. Whatever you spot me I will pay you back ASAP!

But if it turns out I only get like $20 for my cans I might not play at all. It sucks but it is what it is, know what i'm sayin dawg!!!

Back2Back would be sweet! But it all depends on whether or not Colonel Mustard shows up. The Colonel has been dominating most the Tulsa advanced players including me.

Hopefully the General shows up and keeps it together for all 4 rounds this time :o:o

Possible Reasons:

1) B tier = Happy Losers because everyone gets something.

2) Maybe they don't want to wait two weeks for their scores to be posted.

3) Twoputt provides free meals and you get to eat in the kitchen.

4) Gliding on Riverside is better than climbing hills in Russelville.

5) Free Furdog autographs.

6) More chances to be discovered!!!

7) Free beer provided by Bud Johnson and Steve Naegele.

8) Free play by play commentary by Richard Mitchell.

9) Free river rafting for those that fall in.

10) Most of all!!!..... It's the 2007 Tulsa Riverside Glide!!!!!

What more needs to be said.

Russellville is a Southern National Qualifyer.I didn't have time to scrape up the money to cover PDGA sanctioning.
I can't be everywhere at once.Next year look for a couple outta Russellvile and sanctioning will probably happen.

Somtimes people that you think are your friends give you crap about something they don't believe in...I've done it to people without thinking and afterwards I realized that maybe I wasn't that good of a friend to them. :(

Regardless, I am honoring this for those who move up only.

That means I expect Bailey to accept cash not plastic if he moves up to Pro, he won Advanced Masters in 2005.

There is just so much money to go around and all of these free entries are going to have an impact on everyone else...

I said I would keep the tradition going, though I have about 10 versions of the tradition....

Actually the Riverside Glide has a history of bringing in a ton of Amateur players. Which means plenty of merchandise MONEY. I really don't see how the field will be impacted by the entry fee tradition. I've been playing The Riverside Glide for YEARS and as a player I've never felt any effects from the free entries  Good times and a smoothly ran tournament is the only thing I have ever experienced.

You will do a fantastic job, Mike!!!

There will be patio space available so all ages are encouraged to attend.

Thank you Mike for all your hard work on this one. A big thanks to Briley and Ashley Hoster for their hard work on Friday, putting down mulch.

I think that after this weekend, my son is hooked. I witnessed him making some big putts and now I need to get him to show me how he does it. :D

Now he understands why I come home so tired after a two day event. He got home last night, showered, ate and dissapeared to his room, he was spent. :D

Drew wanted me to thank FurDog for caddying for him the last round and I need to thank him for showing up to pay me a dollar. :D

Thanks for all of the kind post.

A lot of people pitched in on this one in one way or another.

Sponsors like the TDSA, Wayne Forest, Mike and Kim Click, the Fabolous FurDog, Joe Rotan. Dan Bougher made some really nice trophies.

As Dave mentioned before, Ashley and Corey did a great job with the mulch. It made a BIG difference and I really appreciate their initiative...

I had a blast and it was really nice seeing so many new faces.

Conners took his first Pro cash, way to go...

We had a huge advanced field with 28 players. I think that speaks to the level Tulsa Disc Golf. There are a lot of great players around and many more that are on their way..

Congratulations to Kevin McCoy and all the other winners.

I had a great time and I am looking forward to next year...

See you at the River tomorrow night!!!!!!!!!!!

Ok, as some of you may know, Fox 23 Sports came to the Glide and interviewed your humble narrator, Joe Rotan and Coda Hatfield.

He "miked" Coda and followed him for several holes.

Nathan from Fox23, Channel 5 to us cox cable subscribers, will air a nice segment on the Glide and Disc Golf as a whole tomorrow night during their 9:00 broadcast.

I hope everyone can watch and I hope I am not too embarrased by my performance.

So lets crank it up tomorrow night at the mini so we can get home and check out the report.

Does anyone know how to record the broadcast and post it on the board?????

Ben shot a -8 against Joe's -11. They went to hole one for a play off. Ben threw first and left it about 30-35 to the right. Joe put it about 12-15ft. Ben face masked the putt. Joe tapped it in for the win. /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Seriously, Joe and Coda did a great job. I think we can count on Fox 23 for coverage at all of our bigger events. Nathan seemed to really be into Disc Golf once he had a chance to see what was going on.

In order to accept money  you gotta play in the tougher division, it's called OPEN :D if you play in a different division and shoot better it does not mean you would have shot the same in a tougher division playing with better players. It really is different.

I shot better when I won advanced which was on tougher riverside course...the course is easier now that holes 5, 12 and 13 have been moved back to their original position.
