I'm bored at work, so here is a new thread.

Most people I know have a go to disc in their bag, if you aren't sure of what to throw that is what you go to. That one disc that has been in your bag for a long time now.

So what is your go to disc?

Mine is a 2005 Special Blend Roc, Red 180g. Got it right when they were released, great disc. Like it so much i went out and found 12 more for backups. But I still have the first one in the bag because they just take so long to break in, this one still flies the same as when i got it. I have 3 aces with it including my only 'grenade' ace.

: ) :

Told you I was bored at work.

currently auditioning other buzzes/rocs from the stash for the new lead role.

if i was to play in a one mold + putter tournament today, the one mold would still be the cyclone. imo, the single most influential golf disc ever.

JKAX's are what I putt with, but if I play with only one disc I will choose an Innova Coyote all day long. They are the straightest flying mid-range I've ever thrown and they glide a looong way. I shot a 64 (two under par) from the blue tees at Moraine State Park using only a CE Coyote!

uuuhhhhh. . . wizard, wasp, XL or pred. . . . depends on alot, so I guess it depends on the shot, which means I did know what to throw.

my answer would have to be a pred, cause if nothing else works throw a hyzer at it.

Hard to agrue with that! Z-Crushes are the only drivers I will throw backhand, forehand, AND overhand. In fact today, I distractedly reached into to my bag for my Flick to throw a thumber. After a sweet park job to save three, I was very surprised to walk up and see that I accidently threw my Crush (same color) by mistake! Easily the most versatile driver I carry. Although if truth be told, I would have a hard time deciding between a 1st run Z-Crush or a 1st run Z-Buzzz if I could only pick one disc for "go-to" status. I can't imagine playing a round without both of them in the bag.

Well, in my defense, it's not like a Crush is actually a HIGH-profile mold! ;) I was playing the new Black Forest course with Jerry McGown, Mark Nielsen + kid, and both McCourts. I was still trying to find a route through the trees, and sort of reached into the bag while still looking at the canopy.

By the way, I highly recommend the course. It's heavily wooded and plays like some of the good mountain courses. Definitely not a par-54 course! I led the group with a 67 and only had one hole that I felt I played badly (took a 7, should have been a 4 or 5). Since I live south of Parker, I love the idea of having a mountain style course < 45 minutes away! :DNatural teepads, but I certainly did not have footing issues. It would be best to play with someone who has played it before or else you have to watch very carefully for markers leading you to the next tee box. Even then you will have to walk halfway down the fairway on most holes to see the basket.

Finally, do you know how hard it was to try and play to guarantee a three-way tie for seventh?!? I had to tank a shot here and there just I could be with the "cool guys"! :D Hope to get out on the course with you again in the near future...

I did that at BG this year at White. I think it was #8, maybe #9. The one that goes back towards #6's fairway, with the gravel path OB deep of the basket. It's a 380' wide open shot. There was a headwind, so I pulled out my orange max. I really threw it hard to fight the headwind. Turns out it was my beat up orange 168 teerex. It flew about 150' OB past the basket into #6's fairway. I was very puzzled as to how my max flipped over until I got to my disc. The group on #6 was laughing when they saw it.

My game is in flux now as I am learning how to play. My goto was a 168 U2, but as I have grown I am finding it to either be a stingray or coyote... I really like the coyote. Its very straight. It doesn't have the "I need to get outta this way crappy place I got myself into" flexibility that the stingray does. I can throw the stingy over, under, and around (either way) all the crap that my amazing driving ability tends to get me into!

Hi Folks

I gotta' go old mold Hydra here. It's the only disc I never leave home without. I love my Champion Panther, my SOLF, and I'm even quickly developing a strong attraction to my Champion Roadrunner. But, my Hydra takes the cake.

You can drive with it, approach with it, and I always use it as my putter. "Go to" is definitely a good way to describe this disc (at least for me it is).

Update: Lost twice more this past week. Once at Vienna Park, once at Ottawa Park. Also I am saddened to hear that describing the proper color of my disc to people in a manner more accurate than any other is offensive. :( It is a bodily-function, dammit!
