Avery, Feldberg and myself played a casual round at Bear Creek during the week of the very first Big Show. Avery throws an 8x Roc in the pond behind hole #5. Here is a photo of him putting on some of my fishing/hunting waders later that night hoping to retrieve the disc.

Gil Garcia had a 5 dollar for 5 shot at 5 basket thing going on before payouts that day. I was the last guy to get to throw and when I came down to my last shot, I aced with an x2 to get the grab bag of discs. The only one I held on to for all these years was this Ontario Roc (it has the purple plastic that shows your hand print in the sun, is that called a "Photon Glow?") that has a St. Louis stamp. Ironic that I live here now! :D

Unfortunately, the foreground trees blocked the view of the green in this photo so I drew the approximate location of the basket. There was a second pond of water which is not visible in the image and the basket was located left of that water hazard. The approximate location of the pond where Stokely's disc skipped off the surface is circled as well (his white disc is visible in the photo above the pond). The trick shot was an overhand Tomahawk....a real crowd pleaser to say the least! To top it off, Stokely got the deuce.....:cool:

It was the the last hole of the final 9 for the top four open men. Stokely had no way of catching Climo for the title and he was far ahead of third place finisher, Scott Martin, so he chose to "wow" the gallery instead!

It was a great shot. I was standing next to Jerry when this happened. The crowd did go wild...alot of high-fiveing and yelling. Plus the fact that Cabin Creek is just an great course to play. I remember that one of the GM was complaining about the course and other stuff until he got an Ace on that course...his attitude quickly changed! :D

Can anybody tell me more about Gordon Holton? I wasn't aware he was someone known on a more national scale, I just know that one of the Am Worlds courses for 2010 in (I believe) Delaware, Ohio is named after him.

There's also a dedication to Gordon at Idlewild. The bridge between holes 4 &amp; 5 was built in his memory.

Yea it is a private course that is pay to play, it just went in last year and there was a tourny that Twisted Flyer ran and the same should happen this year. Heard its nice and room to camp for everyone and the tourny was good.

We just had an Oklahoman move into town up here, he says we need to road trip down for a tourney at that one at some point this year so sounds like fun. That island green looks tight.

What're the odds the final 9 gets put on YouTube by DiscGolfTV? They've done that for the event before, right?

i think disc golf monthly has done it before. i don't recall seeing anyone shooting video last weekend however. i'm sure i'll be corrected if wrong.

Sorry, Disc Golf Monthly TV :) I get mixed up between the two, yeah. I hope so, it was awesome to watch last time they did it!
