I was just curoius how many pfds members would be interested in playing a monthly at the lodge. I know it's a hike to get up here but the course is definitely worth the trip. Summers are always the best time to play, actually the only time, but there is very very little traffic on the course with College being out. Plus, now that the trees are full, shots that were possible in April, May are now impossible. I would like to start a monthly up here starting June 30th @ NOON. Let me know what yinz think.

I think a Lodge Monthly is a great idea, however, please don't make a decision based upon PFDS message board response. You should have enough local players to support a monthly....and the event will help grow your player base overall. In addition, the league will generate some revenue for the IDLA via course fund dollars and merchandise payout, disc sales, etc.

I'm sure there will be PFDS members who will compete in the events as long as there is a posted schedule on this board as well as the PFDS web site. (http://pfds.org/)

I do agree but I know there will NOT be a great local turnout considering IUP in not in session. I've been trying to start a Wednesday night league get together since the PASDGC and only had a few people turn out each time. Even when IUP is in session i don't think a student would pay to play, they would rather spend their money at the Bars.

All tee times will be at Noon - $10 entry fee($8 to payout-$2 IDLA)

You might wish to reschedule the September 15 Lodge Monthly. That Saturday is the Pleasant Valley Disc Golf Classic (http://www.wvdiscgolf.org/index.php) at Morris Park in Fairmont, WV. We moved the Moraine Monthly to Sunday, September 16, to not conflict with this one day C-Tier event. The PFDS usually has a large representation at the Fairmont tournament. Great course, by the way... :)

As for a monthly league turnout, it's usually a slow go in the beginning. In early 2001, I started the Sunday Devotional at Knob Hill and we were lucky to draw more than 10 players the first few weeks. It was the same story for the Moraine Monthly, but once people knew about it, attendance grew over time. Post flyers at both courses in town....and if you provide us a flyer, we can post it at Knob Hill and Schenley Park. Of course, "week-of" e-mail reminders work wonders for the short attention span of disc golfers! :)

If the weather stays nice The Lodge will reopen on Friday. If not this monthly will have to be cancelled, do to repaving of parking lot.

The pin locations are mixed throughout course. (Half in A, Half in B)

The Monthly at the Lodge is CANCELLED for this coming weekend. Do to the fact that the turnout for previous events has been pretty weak to say the least. Six total last month. Plus, the guys that have shown up most have prior agreements this saturday so they can't make it. Personally I would rather spend the day at Timberlink with friends of mine who i haven't played with in sometime now instead of playing the Lodge. Once IUP students are settled in and start playing disc instead of studying i'll start up the Monthlies again.

If you did plan on playing the Lodge this weekend please don't change your plans because this monthly is not happening. Go throw anyways.
