Hi all,

About a month ago, a member of the Bayer MaterialScience (BMS)Controlling group contacted J. Gary Dropcho expressing interest in Disc Golf. J. Gary contacted myself (since I work for Bayer) and provided the name of the individual expressing interest. After several weeks of planning and discussions, a date of Wednesday August 29th, 2007 was set. In Total around 20 BMS employees will venture out to Schenley Park at 1pm in the afternoon for a doubles tournament. I have arranged for BMS to have a custom disc order of 50 discs with the BMS logo manufactured by Innova. Of course this is a great opportunity for the PFDS. A chance at a possible future sponsorship. For those of you who are not aware, BMS produces polycarbonates (plastics). They combine raw materials in the production process and extrude the plastic in strings and then cut them into pellets. These pellets are then sold to manufacturers or small businesses to be molded into the end product. In essence, BMS is a Possible supplier to the Disc Manufacturers and thus has some marketing opportunities within Disc Golf.

So I need to get some voluteers to help me out. I will be allowed to take the afternoon off from work to instruct the individuals how to play. But since there are alot of people, and the course is small and can be confusing, I will need help. Please let me know if you are able to volunteer some time. This is the day Prior to the Thursday that most people have off for the return to Paw Paw.

Thanks to all.

Why Schenley Park?

So that the other members of their group can go to another event. They allowed for two options and 75% chose Disc Golf. Its for the location mostly,.

Why Schenley Park?

You'd send 20 "never-evers" out to Knob Hill, Moraine, or Deer Lakes? From the red tees, most holes at Schenley play in the 150-200 foot range and the Schenley course is probably about the best course in the world for novice, junior or lid throwers. Those other courses would be way too brutal.

LOL :D

Well, last year Libby organized a company outing at Knob Hill which included several people from Germany. We played doubles and paired the beginners with the more advanced players. It was fun, but come to think of it....it was a loooong round! One thing I remember from that round is that Dave Olcott got stuck on a card with three newbies.

Yes but Dave loves Newbies. It should be fun though so I hope people will come and help out. Jerry, we need to get plans rolling for Paw Paw. I want to rent Sumo Wrestling suits and have late night matches

Hi All,

This is just a reminder that next Wednesday August 29, 2007 is the Outing that I am hosting for Bayer Material Science. I had some Discs specially ordered for the event and it looks like around 21 players are going to show up. I am asking for some volunteers to come out and help with the event and enhance our chance for a sponsorship in the future. The event will be held at Schenley park at 1pm. We will play doubles and I really need volunteers to show the people around the course and to provide instructions. We will likely have extra discs so you may get a very limited addition stamp for your participation.

Please let me know if you are able to make it.

Thanks
