North park in Haltom city will have it's grand opening this weekend . I played today and was quite impressed . It remindes me of Ford Park in Shreveport, La....

It is only a nine holer for now , but more will be on the way soon...

If you have the time , check it out and formulate your own opinion.

The course has good signage , so it should be easy to naviagate....

What's the average hole distance?

There are 2 legitimate par 4's .

I can not remember a hole under 300.

Directions : North loop 820, exit denton highway ( 377 )
approx 1 block north on Denton Hwy. there is a baseball complex on the right . Pull into the parking area and look for the pavillion . Practice basket is adjacent to the pavillion. 1st tee is across the street. The signage will take you the rest of the way..

Baskets are MachII with the powder coated blue Basket and topper ....

WARNING : This park has been known for it's after hour homosexual activities, so if you see some guys looking @ you funny, YES THEY WANT YOUR ARSE...

The presence of disc golfers has already been enough to run these poop schute afficianados off.....

All in all, worth the drive !

Fortunately and unfortunately that is why we get some of our courses in the ground.

Will Rogers OKC has been in since 78 or 79 and huge part of that course was to curtail that activity in public parks

I went out to this course yesterday and shot fairly well. Got the birdies on the long holes, (hole 1 with a roller and hole 5 with an air shot,) but didn't get them on the shorter ones. In my opinion, every hole can be birdied with the right shot. All in all I thought it was a good layout for a nine hole course. There is alot of low ceiling shots out there that can be tough. The tee pads are natural soft ground, so be careful with your footwork while teeing off.

There is more room for another nine baskets out there. They are wanting to get sponsors for the other nine holes.
I believe that $400.00 will get you a tee sign and a basket.

I'm curious if anyone has visited the Haltom City course this week? The park has flooded twice this week. In fact, NE Loop 820 was closed on Tuesday during the evening rush hour due to the 3" of rain in 1.5 hours. Wednesday morning I passed by the park via Denton Hwy and I could see tons of debris littering the ball fields, tennis courts and parking lots. I did not attempt to drive in to inspect the dgc... :(
