Arrrggh, every single one of those dates isn't the same weekend as a Steelers home game...except the last one against the Jaguars on 12/15. The Steelers will be 9-4 by that point but coming off a loss against the Patriots so this game against JAX will be an important one. I just might have to hit this one!

Yeah, yeah, yeah, you guys had some nice free agent acquisitions in the off-season. Not too realistic to expect the Steelers to come out of Foxboro with a win. :(

I think they'll also lose to the Ravens, Broncos, and split one with the Bungles.

J Gary or Jerry,

is this weekends monthly at the DLDGC going to be 36 holes? The Scholastic flyer says that and thus made me curious. If so, is it a 9:00am start like the flyer says? You both know why I am asking.

All exact info is appreciated.

The Scholastic Series is a separate event from the Deer Lakes Monthly, although both happen on Saturday at Deer Lakes.

The Scholastic event has a 9 am registration with tee time somewhere between 9:30 and 9:45. Two rounds will be played by middle and high school players from the Red tees.

The Monthly is the same as always -- tee off 10 am 18 holes of stroke play. An optional round of doubles may be played in the afternoon. Registration will be at the Blue Gill pavillion.

One thing besides the baskets that both events will share is a chance to earn an Owl/Hawk/Falcon/or Eagle ranking on the EDGE Skillshot Challenge. I will set up two portable baskets and use # 7's basket and twenty different throwing stations that will test players ability to make 25 ft to 250 ft shots accurately.

The Skillshot Challenge is free and open to all players to do before and between the Scholastic rounds.

Dec 11 2007, 01:08 PM
if i had to wear the Cheatiots jersey there would be swimming lessons around 12:45pm... all R welcome!

.... and I cant help the fact that Sissymiah wouldnt take the points. I knew the cheaters would cover and I'd lose the bet, but if we took it, oh snap!... I just couldnt admit all that pregame cuz I have too much yinzer pride.

JedidiahBibby
Dec 11 2007, 05:46 PM
Josh,

You agreed to the bet. You have to wear a t-shirt and shorts. Don't be an indian giver like your boy Anthony Smith. Wow did he get lit up. And there was no cheatin about that game. They had a nice steeler roast to feast on rookie. Yinza Pride hahahahahahahaha

Dec 12 2007, 09:53 AM
its not going to be THAT bad, and you can laugh all you want... I love my team and I took a stupid bet, I've done worse. At least I dont have to wear that disgrace of a uniform on my flesh! If I were you Kurt I'd bring scissors and make sure you had the Cheatiots look down Pat... besides, who needs sleeves?!? :D

... but seriously, I have a feeling this is going to be the best monthly we've had in a while. maybe not numbers necessarily, but in fun. I'm almost sure of it. I'm thinking of bringing a kettle of homemade soup for everyone to eat for lunch.... make it more of a "gathering" for the last hoorah in '07 @ the DLDGC. Any one else up for the party?... we could setup at the pavillion before the round and have lunch after, thats if everyone reads this and wants to bring something... I personally think its a good idea, any other takers?

also, does anyone have a coffee urn/perculator. That might be a clutch bring regardless on Saturday. ;)

kUrTp
Dec 12 2007, 10:11 AM
Yes, i agree, this will be one h - e - double hockey sticks of a monthly. One, because its been awhile since Alanna and I have played DL and two because it's the last monthly of the year. Also, because you will be playing naked in the cold.

I'm assuming you'll need the soup and coffee for yourself.

Hey Guys,

I won't hold you guys to wearing a PATS Jersey or to wearing a short sleeve shirt and shorts. First off cause I don't want anyone to get sick and secondly because you twoo felt enough pain with the loss.

It was a good bet though. Good luck the rest of the season.

I'm asking wifey right now. She says she doesn't care. I like wedding soup. I'll get on the horn and see if anyone else here in my neck of the woods wants to go.

If anyone has any special requests for holiday glass gifts... PM me and I'll bring em. I still have some pendants and such. Making a few odds and ends today. I might bring some of the chains to show you guys for the target.
