2004 was the last year there were events in the area. HR Hoot and Prompton Big Arm were the last ones....

Thanks to Solt, LaG and Bob Z for getting this up and running!

Can't wait to get out and play my home courses for a PDGA event!

1000ft MONSTER HOLE will be amazing - Mike, I am so glad you and I made that hole 2 years ago, it will be sweet seeing who can bomb it!

This is the first PDGA sanctioned event in Northeast PA in about 3 years and the first PDGA event at all in the area since 05 WORLDS!!!!
Hope to see some folks out for this event! Playing two different courses that have had a LOT of work put into them in the past 2 years! FE Walter Dam is looking better than ever with many new baskets, tee pads, tee signs and directional markers - not to mention that there will be 2 temp holes one of which being a no joke 1000 footer!

pre-reg is open!

Gettin' a little cocky there, eh, Fats? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Not that I expect to beat ya, but there will surely be a lot of Pros, and some highly rated ones, who will sign up next week and the morning of the event. Rumor has it the Frizzaks may be coming.

I ain't afraid a'no Frizzles. Except Dome when we put money on the line. He frightens me.

And Sjur's scar. That's pretty scary.

just as long as that Am1 division stays nice and thin, I will be happy!!! :D

I have thrown only one round above my rating in 2007, and three or four below 900 (including an 813) I'm angry and this could very well be my vengeance! Who's gonna stop me!?

I'm hoping there is large Pro turnout on Saturday to do just that!

If I do win, there are problems. I did get verbal confirmation that one B.O.B. should be in attendance, and I've only beaten him once in PDGA play. A formidable foe indeed.

Thanks to all the Bearclaws who worked their butts off to make the Francis E. Walter Dam course the nicest I've EVER seen it. Sweet new tee boxes, tee signs, new baskets, a few of which were elevated, and rock circles and nicely manicured grass made the course look great!

Scores have been uploaded and round ratings are now available for viewing! Par for the two courses is debatable, but Hickory Run was set at 58 for play of 19 holes, with hole#16 arguably a par 4. Par at Francis E. Walter Dam was set at 62, which corresponds to 20 holes with hole#9B, playing at 1,000 feet long, considered a par 5. Playing slightly downhill and with a severe tailwind blowing, there were two known scores of eagle 3 on this hole, including Open winner Rich Klinger. One competitor's drive was rumoured to have landed past the 590' foot mark!

Note that the Open division paid 6 places which corresponded to all scores under par. In the Advanced Women's division, Mo McEarlern's rating will surely rise in the next update with rounds that were 160 and 90 points above her current player rating. In Intermediate, division winner Earl Frazier shot two rounds in the 900s, and Elliot Frisbie shot a division best 66, a 928-rated round, to jump from middle of the pack all the way into 5th place. 8)

With near perfect weather, it was a truly sublime day for golf. Thanks to all who came out to enjoy it!

Ugh, Kent, I don't know if you've seen me try to sign lately. I'm SO rusty. I need to play with more of you guys! You're a blast.
