So, open players, here's a good one:

You have a plane ticket to anywhere in the US and a weekend off for any event in 2007. Where would you go?

Hawaii Open

If it had to be in the contiguous US then probably the Players Cup (Crystal River, FL) based on the unlimited nearby tourist attractions and things to do when you are not golfing. In fact, the host hotel offers 27 holes of Ball Golf, 18 holes of PDGA MAJOR caliber disc golf, Scuba certification, Manatee tours, Boat rentals, fishing piers, sand volleyball, croquet green, pools/spas, private villas/condos on the golf course, etc..... and that's just on the 4-star Plantation Inn's grounds!!

The USDGC would be another great choice but when it comes to things to do there's no comparison.

Don't you have to be good to play in those events? I am not too good...

TThe_Pro MulleTT has spoken.

I've played 300+ courses all over the US, but i'd beTT that Brian has played more.

Bottom line..... we all started playing b/c it was fun. If you go to have fun, any event in the nation would work. I'd just want it to be set in a beautiful place with a comfortable climate. Notice how my choices involved Beaches and Off Shore fishing. :D

Yes and No.

The USDGC you need to qualify or be a state rep. The Players Cup has some qualification requirements but so far they have opened the door for anyone to play in the final weeks before the event. The MSDGC you need to sign up like a year in advance. :D

That would be nice to be able to get into the PC. Mike Barnett runs a good show.

Cali would be nice. Brad have you played the Master's Cup?

No, but I have heard great things about the tournament and especially the course. Hopefully I will be able to make it next year.

I would bet that if you are looking to attend but don't expect to win, then you are looking for the experience and excitement of something new, I would say to look for a Tournament that has a reputation for a strong professional event on great courses.
