Good story about putting with Conan making his and David missing his. Then of course Conan had to throw discs into the balcony :D It is too bad that Robin Williams wont be there now though. I wander why they bumped Feldberg?

Per Jenks...

Cause Robin was gonna take alot of time and left Dave with only 3 minutes. they gave him the choice and he said he couldnt do it in 3 minutes, so we'll get the full 7-9 minutes tonight...

Also look for Nate and Avery standing by the baskets to stop the crowd from getting nailed...

Too bad, I guess Av, Dave and Junbug will have to deal with another night at the Ritz-Carlton and eat sushi and get driven around town wherever they want to go for another night...

DVR has actually caused me to watch more television. But when you think about it your not wasting as much time because you can fast forward through the commercials therefore you can watch more shows in less time.

Can't wait to see how Borg represents us.

yeah, the Napa bit was funny, especially to me when they got the Pinzgauer stuck (which is **** near impossible, considering it's basically a 6 wheel hummer with portal axles and all that). The wine glass and the spitting and the straw and general berating the guy who gave him the tour, it was some great TV. I never stay up for Conan, but ****, he's funny this week.

That... was HIGHLY amusing. That was great. I loved it degenerating into just chucking putters to the crowd. Conan was really getting into it, and seemed to have a knack for putting disc on chains.

Can anybody (Jenkberg? Nate?) give an accurate estimate how far away were the baskets out in the crowd? They looked to be 60ish but I can't tell for crap on TV. Maybe they were only 40 footers?

Conan was really pumped up!
Thanks to Dave and DGA for all the great work!

Just one suggestion:
Dave handled himself well under all that pressure. He was calm and accurate. However, although he was introduced as a Champion, Dave walked out in an old polo and old jeans - not really like an athlete or a champion.

TV is, of course, a visual thing. People see something on TV and expect that it was intentionally presented to viewers in a certain way. If Dave would have worn warmup pants and a DGA or HuckLab polo, he would have commanded more respect. He appeared very casual - just like anyone else who walked off a course. Please don't get me wrong. Dave was great. I just think he could have dressed more professionally.

You know, you make a splendid point. I can imagine all of the nay-sayers out there: "This isn't a real sport, that guy was wearing jeans! God, what a bunch of clowns."

Seriously, do you HONESTLY think that anybody other than somebody looking for reasons to nitpick is going to notice that? If somebody is looking to nitpick about a pair of jeans, that person wasn't going to try it out in the first place. Your point is completely absurd.

You have no idea how many times people have turned their noses up at even mentioning disc golf . This sport has major issues to overcome before we are viewed in the eyes of the masses as legitimate. An opportunity such as this was an excellent time for our STARS to shine. And shine Feldberg did. Do I think it is an issue that he showed up in jeans, hell no. Could he have appeared a little more professional , yes... That is my only point . CJO, I do a fair bit of DG promotion on several levels, and disc golf is a hard sell. We have more negative issues than we do positive. When it comes to dealing with the public, we all have to be salesmen. Would you show up to a job interview in a pair of jeans ? No.

The point is , to the rest of the world we are a bunch of rednecks playing fetch with ourselves. A concious being would have paid a little more attention to their appearance , if only for the guise of professionalism.

How can some people can sit there and get all worked up because of what Dave wore? If you ask me, more people involved in our sport should dress even that nice. This is what i think everyones approach seems to be wrong why only show putting. Come on who is going to want to get out thier and play if all they see is someone throwing 30" putts. Im 16 and how i get my friends intrested is not showing them me putting but driving. Who is not going to want to go out and play if they see someone throwing a disc 460 feet or so. We need to show more of what disc golf really is to get people intrested.

I thought what he wore was appropriate. When PGA guys do interviews, they are in khakis and thier collared shirt - just like what they play in.

Don't worry about NIKE they are not interested in Disc Golf, I work 4 blocks from their Headquarters here in Beaverton Oregon, and when suggesting they set up a 9 hole course on campus several PR people said it would not be worth their time. Trust me NIKE is so into so many other sports that we are not even close to being on their radar, now if .5 billion people in China start playing I think they will step up to the plate.

I cannot even believe this CRAP that I am hearing about what Borg wore on Conan!!! Cant you people just be pumped that he even got the CHANCE to be on a HUGE show like that??? Ill tell you what!!! I though he did a great job and thought his attire was very appropiate........Case in point Conan got sick of his jacket and long sleeve shirt so he THREW it off so her could get more into it!!!

This sport is not going to be affected by Borg wearing jeans on Conan it will be affected by the people who have nothing better to do than complain about what he wore on the show that may have gotten us the lucky break we need!!! I mean it might not have gotten us anything but I can promise you if someone saw that show that wants to drop alot of money on the sport now the final thing they think about before doing so will not be what Dave wore on the show or the fact that he was wearing jeans and his Sponsors collared shirt!!!

I thought the show was amazing and I think Borg did a great job representing Innova and our sport!!! The crowd was going WILD once they started sending the discs at the baskets in the audience!!!

All in all it was a great thing for the sport of DG and anyone who wants to nit pick about what Dave wore on the show can shove it in my opinion!!! Im sure there was talk about what he should and shouldnt wear and im sure they came to a decision on what he did wear!!! So untill anyone else can get on the Conan show and wear what they think is right I would just be happy we got the exposure and dont complain about it especially if you had NOTHING to do with it!!!

I am kind of just playing devil's advocate here but why is everyone so excited about mainstreaming disc golf? I, for one, really enjoy getting to play without having to shovel out green fees every time. I like having the sport mostly played by a core group in my area. The sport is only going to get more expensive and slower the more people gravitate to it. Yeah, I would enjoy having more courses that I could visit but as soon as anything goes mainstream in a capitalist society the bottom line becomes the $$$ and everything else becomes secondary. I think it's perfectly appropriate for Feldberg to show up in jeans, the sport is all about comfort and fun, not conforming to dress code!

Considering your casual fun is at the expense of volunteers who have worked countless hours and contributed cash out-of-pocket, perhaps including yourself, molding and shaping public property (typically), the game isn't truly free as it is. Keeping your fun "secret" from others in the community whose tax dollars have supported the effort also doesn't seem fair does it? Devil's advocate of course.
