Registration for the Pro event is now closed, we've reached maximum capacity. Those interested in getting on the waiting list can email masterscup@delaveagadiscgolf.com.
The amateur event closes on Wednesday unless it fills sooner.
The weather has cooperated with us and the course is looking beautiful. An army of volunteers were up there this weekend mowing, weed whacking, and repairing to get it in tip top shape.

It's a known fact that NorCal'ers don't submit much on the PDGA DISCussion pages. It's not that they don't have computers, it's, I guess, they're looking at porn(pure speculation) or something. This is a huge NT and there isn't much ado going on about it.
This is the sweetest of tournies if you are from NorCal. I am looking forward to it with extreme excitement. I hear that we will be playing 28 holes per day and the pin placements may not change. Volunteers have been primpng the course so it will look it's Spring best.
33 Grandmasters!!! It's like a "mini" Worlds.
Can't wait to see all of the major discers out there. KL

Who got banned fron UFO's ??? BTW I bet for next year, if you contacted the boys in Oroville they might be interested in picking up that leg of the tripple crown.... Two 18 hole courses on the river that are very nice.. ( 10 original Steady Ed designed holes still remain on the north course) and a third course at the Forebay only 2 minutes away is in the works as well. Not to mention it will be the site of this years Nor-Cal champs!!

I have a solution for this. Just designate the SF Safari as the third leg. It's only slightly historical how that "city" was transformed by the gold rush. It's logical. Either there or one of the Sierra tourneys.
I won't be running any tournies in the middle of the week like Browns 'n Bows.
Or it could just be the Double Nugget! :o
Anyway, this week's Motherlode is the first phase. I hope to see some good golf this weekend. Who's going?

Here's an email sent out by the TD
Hello: Player
You are registered to play in this year's Steady Ed Memorial Masters Cup.
If you cannot fulfill your registration obligation, please, let me know as soon as possible.
I will return 100% of your entry, if you let me know that you cannot make it prior to the final setting of tee times [Wednesday evening May 16].
I will return 80% of your entry, if you notify me by Thursday night May 17. I will assume that you bought your spot, and will provide NO refund if you fail to notify by Thursday night May 17.
Tee Times will be posted no later than Wednesday evening May 16th.
Please, check discgolftournaments.com and or pdga.com for your scheduled tee-time. Tee Times will also be posted at the course and at DJ's mini-mart.
Please, arrive to hole #1 no later than 10 minutes prior to your scheduled tee-time.
The course is currently setup in tournament position. There are NO PLANS to alter the course setup during the event [No Hole Changes are planned]. Therefore, you will play the same course all 3 days. Of course, this is subject to change.
Holes 17 & 26A will be in play. The basket for Hole #26a will be set on Wednesday.
Holes 20 & 22 will not be in play.
You are welcome to warm up on Hole 20, prior to your round.
Rounds will take up to 5 hours to complete.
*******VERY IMPORTANT*********
After your round is complete, on Friday, your entire group is required to turn your scorecard in together. At this time, and this time only, you will receive your players package. IF YOU FAIL TO ADHERE TO THIS SIMPLE REQUEST, YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR PLAYERS PACKAGE.
*******************************
If you have played the Masters Cup before, then you are aware of our most difficult task, PARKING.
Therefore, we ask that you consider carpooling, and parking above the lake at the ball golf course, especially if you are playing early. This would take a big load off our parking situation, and could allow for spectator parking.
You could also stop at the ball golf course; have a meal at the clubhouse. then hike in the 1/3 mile in to the discgolf course [it would be a good warm up]. We 'should' have a shuttle, however, it is ultimately your responsibility to arrive for your scheduled tee time.
If you choose to park at the course, then you must oblige the 'parking guides', and park how and where you are directed. Any objections [lip] will result in very bad karma.
There is alot going on, and many players may not be in town yet. However, I would like to have a 'non-mandatory' players meeting Thursday evening, at 5:30pm, hole #1, to answer questions, etc.
See you then.

I would like set all of you guys straight about the past discussion about the Oroville tournament and the NorCal Champs. :D
1) The local rotary sponsored and helped put on that non-sanctioned tournament to specifically happen during their Feather Fiesta day event and at this point have not become aligned with the schedule of the PDGA.. This is something that will come with time and more frequency of events.
This tournament had extra cash added from local sponsors, which made the payout what it was... 500, 350, 250. There is no intentional "bad form" here as this event is very small local non-sanctioned event. There was no choice on the date due to the fact that it has to corespond with the other non-disc golf activities. I only guessing, but I am sure Mike Travers and Chip have discussed this event and were fully aware of the conflict, but had no choice given the circumstances /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif
2) As I understand it, this is not a rumor. Mike Travers came out to Oroville early this year to meet with the TD Chip Frink, and check the facility out, and later told Chip that the NorCal Champs will be held in Oroville this year. :D
We need to support Oroville players and the course. The potential is huge and the people there deserve our help.

The skins match was today at 1:00. It is being sponsored by Tom Schott Sports, Well Within, Marty Hapner and The Sweet Spot. As far as I know the players were invited by the organizer of the event, Tom Schott. There was a film crew there, the same guys that are doing the Chains movie and they are locals. I didn't see any other cameras out there.
I left early, so I heard the results second hand. I think is was Steve Rico with 16, Ken Climo with 9, Des with 2 and Nate 1. It was 28 holes because both 17 and 8a were played. I watch for about 11 holes and it was a great show. There was a great turnout of spectators and it had the feel of an NT final nine.
I think the skins match was today.

This was another awesome tourney by the folks in Santa Cruz. I had time to spend the morning in court on Friday and still make my 2:00 tee time. I haven't said "your honor" that many times since I played ball golf!

No way.
Every course in Texas sucks compared to dela. There are no hyzers on the entire course. Every hole has some elevation with some of them going up or down 150'+. You can get a 100' tourney roll from all 27 baskets. It is really hard to describe you just have to play it, and once you do you will realize how bad our courses in Texas are. We have got to be the worst state as far as getting usable land for courses.
