Consider yourself invited to the 21st annual Lakefront Open. The course has changed in the last year. Gone are holes 1,4,5 and 6. The new additions are holes 4,10,22 and 23. The course begins on old hole 24 and proceeds to old hole 2 (mando hole) and ends on old hole 23. The registration tent will be set up at the gravel parking lot adjacent to old 24 at the top of the hill. If you haven't played Warriors in a few years, you have missed a lot of tougher holes being added. -20's are a thing of the past. I predict the best score for this years round 4 (all longs) will be -12. I could be wrong, but you get the picture.
We used to get 120 golfers with a waiting list but our attendance has steadily dropped over the last 5 or 6 years. I think the new design is more up to date with the tougher courses being built. I realize that more courses mean more tourneys on more weekends, but I hope that our old core of out of towners will give us another shot.
I hope to see you all on May 19 - 20!

One of the reasons Johnny, Steve & Vanessa are in the Hall of Fame.
And I bet Brent Hambrick would have been HOF too ... miss ya Brent.
The whole 'Purse" was barely $300. But folks went away with cases of soft drinks, snacks and many other goodies. Ams almost needed a wheelbarrow to haul away all the added merchandise.
Back in the day.....................
Note Amazing travel .. J. Akins was 4th place in Fla States and 6th place in North Carolina States the same weekend. :oMaybe that's why Jim needed a playoff to beat Glenn Henry in NC. Got caught in traffic?? But what 'Driving Skill', especially rollers.

The Lakefront Open is a great time. I just sent in registration for Greg and Coleman. I sure wish that I could be going too, but Connor has a fiddle band conflict and one lucky parent draws the short straw and has to stay in town. Greg is planning on bringing lots of old unusable plastic in order to chuck it off the bluff.
See you next year!

Sorry you & Connor aren't gonna make the trip. I did get your check Monday and C & G are in. Thanks for pre registering.
Maybe your whole clan can make it in July 7 - 8 (http://lakefrontdiscgolf.com/Documents/2007BordenWingedDeerPDGA.pdf) . We have a 1 day C Tier at the pitch & putt Borden on Sat and another one at Winged Deer the next.

North Carolina, South Carolina, Kentucky, Virginia, Georgia, West Virginia, Alabama, heck even Florida! The Lakefront is calling! We got room! We got camping! We got a new design! Aren't you curious? 84 holes of golf, golf, golf! Our list of past champions is a who's who in southeastern disc golf lore. But sadly, they've all found greener pastures. Hey! what luck! we just planted new grass! And a few new anchors. You know you want to come, so give in.

I was planning on coming this year but doesn't look like past years payouts were that great. For me to make the 300 dollar trip I need a chance to win some of it back. Not to say I'd be winning anything with my DFL this past weekend! I love the course! Haven't been there in a few years but what times I remember at the Path! Hope everybody has a great time and be safe!

the payouts haven't been so hot because people have quit coming. if more people come, the payout increases. i'm not happy about it either but if more pros would come back we could go back to being the big pro field we used to be. we used to get 40 or more pros but with the increase in tournaments more people are skipping us for closer tourneys. i think if we offered 2 or 3 grand added cash we could'nt fill up fast enough. that is where our sport has gotten to, show me the money. regardless, we will do our best and i'm sorry to hear you're not coming mike. try to talk some other sc guys into coming and camping at the park. you can get by fairly cheap that way.

The sport needs some kind of increase in money to pull more people to it. Warriors Path is in my top 10 in favorite courses but I have a house being built and closing next month. Otherwise, I'd be there if the payout was 50 bux.

And you'll play but one of the most enjoyable courses you've ever played also. Not to mention the people up there are a bunch of fun and just all around great people, although you WILL hear some odd names as Scooter and Cornbread and whatever else you go buy in TN.

About 8:00 Tim is still working at the park, says it is looking good. Park staff really helped with a great mowing job. If you are camping you can drive right to the course and play as late as you like.

Well I enjoyed the course. Didn't play all that well but it was still fun. Minus my last group of course which was bad enough at one point I was just going to leave and get a DNF. But if I am ever in the area I will def. stop by and play the course again.
