Anyone planning to go to this one day C Tier tourney in Springfield (Nixa) on Saturday June 30th? I know it's the same day as Alma, but just wondering. I think I'm gonna go 'home' that weekend, so I may just end up seeing what their club is all about while I'm there. I remember abunch of T-Towners playing in a tourney a couple years ago...Sun Burn Open, I think, so I thought maybe some of ya'll would end up going to this one too. Sorry Pitch...

Do you think it will be held on the temp course at the lake, where the Sunburn Open was held???

Melissa - it looks like I am going to be in Springfiled that weekend also. I am planning on playing the tourney while my family is visiting Becca's aunt in Fair Grove. We are driving over on Friday afternoon and then coming back on Sunday evening. So, if you are still going I will see you there. I have been looking for an early sign-up but have not found it as of yet.

Glad to see a fee T-towners are going so now I will have someone to bum a ride from for lunch. Rebecca is going to drop me off at the course Saturday morning and come back and get me that evening. We are staying at a Best Western on Glenstone, not that it matters becuase it looks like most are going to drive back that night.

I have been trying to get in touch with Russ Burns to get some more info. but I keep getting a fax/modem line. If anyone knows more info. about the event like start time, entry fees, etc. - please share.

I am not going to Springfield this weekend, actually. I decided to go to Alma. Seems like there'll likely be more women in Alma!!! Sorry Jose :(

Oh I see, you are going then I am going and now you are not going. That is going to get you an extra smack on the head with a thunder stick that I still owe you from the Talons game.

Anyway there are going to be hundreds of Hooters girls there carrying our bags, bringing us water and cleaning off our discs. How could you say there are going to be more women in Alma. ;)

Hopefully, my boys from SS will still make the trip - I know Randal Reisner and Kyle McClure are going from Arkansas.

I'd like to try something new.. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

BUT, I did speak with a lady at their park and she provided me with some information..

The tournament is limited to 100 players ... they started the registration at the end of May so I don't know what the field is looking like right now.

Tee-off is at 10 AM.

Entry Fees:
Open: $45
Advanced: $35
Intermediate: $30
.. I kinda zoned out when she was mentioning the other entry fees.

Oh yeah, lunch is provided.

From what I undestand, Alama will be all new to what you had played in the past. Heck, Hole one is now at another entrance. ;)

Please don't quote my posts with yours because until like you, I am a law abiding poster. I have not been convicted of a crime and put on probation like you and I have no wish to join you, Jake, & Rhett at the halfway house for convicted PDGA ex-cons. :p :D

That's precisely the reason I decided to go to Alma instead of Springfield/Nixa. A few months ago when I mentioned going, I was excited about playing in my home town, especially since I didn't even play golf before I moved to Tulsa. But I haven't been able to find out any information. And then when I heard that the ladies entry fee at Alma is only $25, I decided to definitely head there. Last year was a ton of fun, and I didn't think Springfield would beat the entry fee and amount of ladies. Hope I don't end up regretting me decision......I'm already questioning myself when you mention HOOTERS girls hanging out at the course :D!!!

Well i'll be.I thought McCoy was headin our way.Yeah I knew Kyle was jumping ship.Randall I hadn't a clue.(Haven't heard from him)Too bad,He they had a shot at the USDGC spot too. This thing should pay about $1,000 to the overall winner.Hows THAT for blowing it.
Alma is going to be a blast.Sorry to hear some of you have decided to go to the Hooters fest.I thought I had the dates covered. This thing came up outta nowhere on me.That's OK.They call it progress right.I bet my 1 Day is more fun.Bet our pool is used.Bet the Hooters girls have three nipples and an airstrip for a butt.Who wants to see a bunch of distractions when playing golf anyway. If you'd like I can get the local gentlemans club to sponsor next year.I'll put a pole on every hole.(JUST AIM FOR THE CANS)
That'll distract ya.
You guys are gonna miss out.Kevin,You know how we roll here.
Good money.

I would never dispute that the Alma event is going to be great. Honestly, I know nothing about the course, TD or money in Nixa. What I do know is that we had a trip planned for this weekend to Springfield to visit family and there just happened to be an event that I got permission to play so I am going to and I am going to have fun doing it.

Sorry Pitch. I do wish we could all get together on scheduling. I felt the same way when Fayetteville had an event the same day that I had the Duncan Lake HillClimber that I have had on the same weekend for the last four years.

Last time I played the Nixa course, I was not too impressed. But it could've changed, I guess. The TD, Kevin Carder, is very cool though. Hopefully he'll have a good turnout!

Did I say Kevin? I meant Jose.I'm all screwed up.Too much tourney on the brain. As far as getting the dates coordinated. There's ALOT of golf goin on out there nowadays. No way to keep from conflict. No Way.
It's all good.
