A couple weeks ago, I was practicing for a tournament at the course. Along one of the holes, there is what I thought was a creek. One of my throws went into the middle of it, and next to mine was an unmarked disc. I put the disc in my bag, thinking nothing of it. When I got it home that night, I noticed that it smelled like sewage. I talked to a local during the tournament the next day, and he said that that "creek" is a runoff for sewage. I figure the disc I found was frozen in there over winter.

The first thing I did with this disc was to wash it like a plate. This didn't work. It was then soaked in a cleaning solution for about a week. Now it just smells like sewage that was soaked in a cleaning solution. After washing it about 5 times this morning, the smell hasn't waned.

So my question for you all is this: is there anything I can do to get rid of the smell, or am I going to be stuck with it for the life of the disc? Not only does the disc smell, but it seems to be more slick, so this isn't just a question of vanity.

Thanks.

Dilute bleach solution should get rid of the creek funk.

Abount the only thing you can do is get rid of it. Pond and river stained disc's will never come clean. I'ts almost like dye. Somtimes you will get lucky and find one that has a cool print dyed in it from the way it was laying.

I have purchased several discs on Ebay that, when I received them, reeked of stale cigarette smell.

Nothing cut the smell until I soaked them for a couple of hours in straight ammonia.

I don't know if it will get rid of sewerage smell but it might be worth a try.

As both Ammonia and Bleach have been mentioned in this thread, I'd just like to make note NOT to mix them. This can be VERY VERY VERY VERY bad. I'm sure most people reading this have been educated in this, but it needs to be emphasized that this can produce Chlorine Gas, which is lethal.
