Congratulations to Scott Martin for nailing a huge promotion at his job that will send him off to Chicago. He announced last night that the CCR was his last tournament and that he's retiring from DG. He then went on to thank J-Bird for years of friendship and caddyship and gave him what I hear are some pretty amazing and valuable discs - a 2001 USDGC roc or something - well, you'd have to be into Innova to know what they were. (Discraft rules).
So will the Great Lefty truly disappear from DG or will we see him at the 07 USDGC for a grand reappearance Michael Jordan-style?

Wow!
Congrats to Scott. He'll certainly be missed. (But I'd bet a few MI gunners are shedding croc tears over their likely move up the leaderboard by one spot, boo hoo.)
Now, with Bennett gone on the road and Scott in a rest home, MI events are a little more ripe for the taking.
Again, congats to Scott.
Sarah, you up for helping out with a retirement profile piece? Torque Hoar, Cub Reporter!

Scott...you will be missed in the Disc Golf World. I have some footage of your last round at the DGLO last year. I haven't looked at it yet but will get you a copy when I get it done.

Yeah, I have the final 18 of the USDGC downloaded from 2005. Really the only chance I have had to see him play, really made some slick shots (the 888). I also (almost a week after downloading that) met him briefly as I was working reg at Back to the Hills at Rolling Hills, and he seemed like a cool guy.

Okay, so I can't believe this but I guess I have to. Scott was and still is a major inspiration in my golf career. I made many trips down to Peoria to play casual rounds with him just for the opportunity to learn anything he felt like teaching. Between him and Phil Arthur I was lucky to have the greatest teachers of Disc Golf.
Scott, I will be calling you! Congrats for you (and Dana) on getting on with the next step of your life. I will miss you on the course but hope to see much more of both of you soon.
Thanks for everything!
Scott Papa
The guy who always had to buy because I never did beat you.
P.S. But you better never forget the time I did tie you in Peoria on your own darn courses. At least I have something.

He is a person that will definitely be missed on and off the golf course.

Congrats to Scott. He was one of the first "pros" that I ever got to play with and he was a true professional. I know that he could be very intense during competition, but he was very patient and happy to answer all of my newbie questions when we played years ago. Now its time for Larry Labond to step up and represent the mitten!
