I would definitely pre-reg. I am almost 100% positive no sign-ups Sat morning. This is going to be a good one. The players packs are awesome :cool:to say the least. The courses, food, and fun had by all is all that is needed, for this one. The bonus is you will get to see 4 out of the 5 courses we are going to use for Mid Nationals in September. :)

Coda,
Bring it on. The courses are awesome.

You want to see 4 different courses, w/4 very distinct personalities. You will not regret. We have a bunch of players on the bubble thinking about coming to STL. Do not pass it up. Want long flat w/big oaks, 8000 ft plus, go to Creve Coure, want 6-10M+ feet depending on the placements and mainly elevation change, go to Souix Pass, Want 5M to 7M+ w/BIG trees all along the way, go to Jefferson Barracks, Want 5M+ to 6M+ of all you want, placement golf, go to Endicott. These are the 4 courses that will be played for the open. I promise you one thing, you will be tired of your brain going, what do I do next. This thing personally, takes your golf game, and test all you got. Also, personally, Endicott is the toughest I have ever played. You must throw 2-250 accurately just to have a great upshot at 75-100 just to par. Also, if you can shoot par at Endy, meaning 54 you are pushing 1000+ rated rounds. CC ATA Creve Coure 60s lowerish even upper 60s. SP AKA Souix Passage, now this is the one of the nicest layed out courses in STL area. Awesome layout, long, challenging, very nice. Any thing <60 is AWESOME. Come on down, you will not be dissapointed in the courses and hospitality. BTW food on Saturday is not bad either :)

No question try and shoot 54 at Endi. If you do it will be a 1000 rated round. Then try and break 60 at both Souix Passage and Creve Coeur, tall orders unless you can throw 500. JB is getting tougher by the day w/the greenery in full bloom. A couple down there will be a nice score. You coming up thrusday night? I have Friday off and can show you Souix than have to go to work at Endi for the rest of the day. Definitely DO NOT want to play SP or Endi blind. :D

Thanks fritz;

even though Creve Coeur is the longest by far, playing it to the par of 68 is not that difficult unless its windy.
a good score here is -10

Sioux Passage for a big arm is not that hard but it still requires some course management and accuracy from start to finish.

JB can be shredded, especially by a good putter, but if your putting is off you could end up over par very easily.

Endicott is definitely the most " homie" course.
play to the green and not to the pin and DO NOT PRESS!

If you can only practice one course it should be endicott.
On paper it looks easy, from the tee, it looks easy, but for some reason Its really hard to score. :) the 1st 6 holes are fairly easy and then it just keeps on getting tougher.
The best advice would be to play smart at Endicott or you will wind up way over par. A good score here is anything under par, a great score would be 50 (-7)!

Predicted winning totals: ( assuming we have decent weather):
open -25 (-10 at cc. -7 at SP, - 5 at JB, -3 at Endicott).
Advanced - 8 (-6 at SP,-2 at SP and even at JB and endicott)

OK, with the greenery I do not think your scores will hold up

And  JB can be cut apart w/good accurate 1st throws ; Shot flat, after, doing things today ;), after that, U must make putts. If you hit trees :( then 3 is best you will get, almost every time.) Hole 17 is playing up to its potiential, 3 or 4 there is hugh. Made a 5 w/30 ft putt today. Cannot wait to see the scores that come off these courses after the Open/msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Time is getting short. If you are thinking about coming a National Champion then, you will definitely see 4 of the 5 courses, planning on being used for the STL Open.
Guarenteed, the pins will not be the same for Mid Nats.. 3 pins per pad here is , it gives us some variables

Glad to hear your coming, you might want a lap around each course before if you can.
do you like to throw big?
2 of the courses are Huge ( Creve Coeur and Sioux passage and you will surely get your chances to go big.

BTW,
did you register on line?
you dont have to play but it could help our draw if some top guys were to get signed up early!

Hey Fritz can you post the distances right here on this thread>?

Coda,
Come on to STL and get twisted. You will love the long stuff  Endi is key. Short accuracy is the key ;) for sure. 54 s/b at least 1000 rated round. You make birdies in key areas and you can smoke this HARD little course. JB is lines, CC is your style, big arm, and SP is also lines w/BIG arms. See you tomorrow.

Peace :)

Lots of people in town. The weather is beautiful and the courses are supreme.
