This probably should be on the ask Discraft thread....but oh well.
What's with those **** gold PDGA stickers on the Discraft X plastic discs? I hate those little stickers. First you have to peel them off. Then there's a little sticky spot right where your fingers rest on the grip.
How come this sticker is only on the X plastic? Do they have to use a sticker because no ink will stay on the X plastic?
I also hate when stores put the price stickers on the discs. Such a pain to get the sticker glue off. I know somebody is going to post: "Man it just takes a second with a little goop goop!"
I also don't like that the sticker says 173 to 174. Which is it (not that one gram is a huge deal...it's the principle of the matter)? Why not just write the weight on the disc?!!
I hate that little sticker.

why not just leave the sticker up there and leave it at that?

I didn't think you were allowed to throw discs with stickers on them. Am I mistaken? If so, I guess I could keep it on. Then it just starts peeling off gradually and it becomes more of a distraction than the sticky spot. Really, the sticky spot only lasts a few days...until it gets dirty. I would just rather not to have to think about it.
Is this trivial & arbitrary...yes. I'm just curious though.

Good to know! Do you know why they go with the sticker on this particular plastic? With Z and ESP it is written on...why not X?
From one McCormack to another,
Thanks!
P.S. I still don't like the sticker.

Avon Skin so Soft will take the sticker residue off pretty easily. Just be prepared for ridicule for smelling slightly more effeminate.

The indelible markers like sharpie are more likely to sublimate into and through X plastic, which doesnt have the Urethane in it like the others..

Rubbing alcohol and a towel will take that residue right off. Without any smell too.

I just leave the stickers on. They don't bother me at all...

What stickers? I never noticed them.
Actually, if you don't pick at them and just leave them alone they should never bother you. There was an older guy in the DFW area with the initials GG....that use to run Crowley....that hated them so much he quit ordering Discraft disc. His loss. He has since disappeared.

Yeah, I think that guy now lives under a big rock ;)

anything stickered or adhered to a disc sucks!
BUT... any mild solvent will get it off, rubbing alc, naptha, even a light soak in dish soap.

I personally don't care at all about the stickers on my X plastic discs. I leave them on, they don't bother me and they let me know the weight of the disc I'm throwing. I guess I would prefer if they would write the weight on, because then they would be like all my other discs from every company, but it's not a big deal to me.

WD-40 got the stupid paper sticker off the display of my universal remote, and a little rubbing alcohol cleaned up the WD-40 residue.
I was amazed at how well the WD-40 worked.
