A lot of work accomplished Saturday boys and girls. Not that I was there to participate in the actual work myself.... but I did see the results of it yesterday and everything looks great. Teepads refilled, groomed, and tamped. Some nifty new pin positions, Stack, Mole and crew. I think y'all will like them. I definitely feel this will give you a look at the real Yadkinville course in all it's kick your butt glory. Don't let it fill up before you get your entry in. :p :D

Also, Stack moved the baskets into their first round of the tournament positions yesterday afternoon where they will remain until..... the second round of the tournament. :D

And since you are coming this far consider camping up at Ramcat Saturday night and doing the Hickory UFO club travelling road show doubles on Sunday at 11:00 and the Yadkin club First Sunday Singles at 2:00. No problem BW Dave. Just got another mail from Ben and there are a lucky 37 pre-regs at the moment and should be posted as to identity by later today.

Also for everyone travelling a significant distance, or just across the county for that matter, camping will be available at Ramcat, fifteen minutes from Yadkin County Park, on Saturday night. That way you can get up Sunday rested, play Hickraw travelling road show doubles Sunday morning at 11 then First Sunday Singles at Ramcat at 2 and be on the road home in good shape.

BTW, Hickrawians, y'all are more than welcome to play Sunday a.m. dubs at Ramcat. Was that the plan?

Really looking forward to the weekend, boys and girls.

Guess I'm one of the lucky 37 you mentioned because Big Ben has had my $ for weeks now. I'm very much looking forward to experiencing the real Y'ville course in tournament play, where pro par is 54 (par). There should be some monster scores out there especially if it is as windy as the MYO last fall.

BS - set them Hick'raw boys strait...no better place to play than the Ridge, especially glow golf.

Anyway bringin the tent and gear for a nice sleep, both nights would be good but the travel quota is full so I can't push the envelope....like the other post said - "seemed like a simple question"

See ya Sat. AM

If it's only 18 holes you want to shot in the 40's in open and low 50's to high 40's in Adv. However I haven't seen the new holes yet but I don't believe there are any par 4's.

tyson99duke
May 30 2007, 02:42 PM
Played last weekend, holes are in difficult positions. I say high 40s is a hot round in Adv. Par will be a good score for me. :D Number 17 was as hard as I have seen a par 3. Definetly a few good birdie holes 1-5. I heard some pins will be switched at lunch.

Big old fun afternoon at Yadkin County Park. Regular Wednesday afternoon Cat/Disco crowd, Ben and Stank marking and measuring every thing in sight, some awfully good golf shots being thrown by KevMo and Ben, even a couple by Stack and me. Can't account for the trailing group.

I'll probably miss some questions but here come some answers, some of them quite random - 18 holes, all pins changed at lunch except #3 which has no alternate, will actually play slightly easier second round but still plenty challenging, par 54, some are over 500 but they are still 3's, deal with it :D, Ben save a spot for JackieSmalls, my feet stink, my back itches and I have no idea what's up with the copper colored rash. /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Course is looking absolutely super, hard, brittle, dry as a bone, grass cut short, skip shots abounding, rollers rolling....... PosiTodd skip aced #4 this afternoon in a casual round, it was beautimous. Gonna be a big old time Satiddy......... Come on and join us.

Don't know. My practice in the past when confronted with a tournie filling was to just ask Super Dave. Dave, is it gonna fill? /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Seriously, it may, but the Charlotte contingent that would ordinarily be supporting this tournament strongly have their own version of hell going on this weekend, so maybe not. Wish we could have gotten the PayPal up and running, but maybe next time. I'm not the TD but time is short and if you are seriously going to be coming this way PM me and I'll pass the word along to Ben and post some kind of unofficial running talley here. The course layout is sweet! Big Thanks to the LOCALS for all their hardwork making this tourney possible! And, for making Yadkinville DG what it is today. :)

Looking forward to spending the weekend down there! Rain would be nice!

If you are PMing me for a spot - name, division, pdga#. Please use this option only if accidental death or dismemberment will prevent your coming.

Also as Todd says, on your last hole of the first round virtually all baskets will be moved to their second round positions. No biggy. Doing it this way it should take a maximum of fifty seven seconds per hole and can be accomplished while the math whizzes are totalling the cards. Hoooooooahhhhhh, eeeeeeeyahhhh, arrribbbba, ondele, ondele............ Gonna be a big time.

I've never had the pleasure of playing Yadkinville but it sounds like a great course & good times. How much poison ivy is on the course and is it easy to get into? Also are there a lot of blind tee shots or is it player friendly going at for the first time blind? gracious, hope to make it.

When will scores be up?

A week from Thursday.

From the top of my head, which isn't necessarily accurate right now, Mike Edwards over Caleb Wood in a playoff for Open, Alex Wells over Big Air Austin in a playoff for Adv, Kevin Morris over Lee Mineheart in Grandmaster playoff. And that's alls I know and even that may not be accurate. What is accurate is a big old time had by all, perfect conditions, and speaking for myself the course kicked derriere. Hope everyone had as good a time as the local boyz did.

Special thanks to big Ben Porter - TD - I enjoyed playing golf with you and the trournament went great. It could not have been done without all the club members support and good thing for us golfers. Payout was great! I'll be back next year.

Maybe the park will have an extra nine holes to fill up next YST?

If the estimated ratings for this tournament are still up does that mean that this will not be included in the ratings update?

Yeah, I don't think this one will be included in the new ratings Alex. The paper work must not be in. You can just rest assured that you are going to have a bigger bonus when they do get added. See you soon!
