I hate to keep asking, but I lost my rule book from last year and don't believe I received a new one this year. Today someone found someone else's disc in the fairway and I wanted to carry it in to make sure that one of the couple of people that don't return tourney discs didn't find it. Then everyone in my group told me that carrying someone else's disc could get you DQ'ed or stroked or something. If so that has got to be the dumbest rule I have ever heard. I could even understand if the rule was throwing someone else's disc. But I would like to think that if I lost one of my discs that someone could carry it to the TD without being penalized.

You need to be absolutely certain that the disc isn't in play or you get penalized. That's why many players won't pick up other discs during play. If you know the player's name on the disc is on another course or other hole, then you can risk it. But even then, sometime players have bought or borrowed another player's discs and that's why the name on the disc doesn't match who's playing the hole.

The hole that was in question was in the corner of the course with the only teepad beside ours being empty next to it and actually the guys that just cleared that teepad discussed it with us. I passed several discs today in fairways that I never even gave a second thought because I assumed they were in play but this one was not. So then there is no rule against bringing in a disc only a rule against moving one that is in play.

Correct.
