... this Saturday (14th) shows McClure at 11:00am -and- 3:00pm ... and that would be accurate ... however , Mr.BigNicholson has agreed to let me provide a "twist" on the 3:00pm afternoon round ... we'll run it like a "special-edition Saturday-Flights" ... a little-lower entry to play ($5) ; heck maybe even lower depending on the wishes of the Players attending ... could even be $4 -or- $3 ... that's not that much-of-a-factor anyway ... it's all 100% payout ... ca$h ... so , we'll make it whatever TD Nic thinks for an entry ... main thang is to offer mulligans (at a max of $5) ... there's a little fundraiser aspect I'm working on : another supported Tournament for an xtra-kick ... in June , the State Championship is B-Tier ... $10-value player's-packs to all Amateurs ... my goal is to get these player's-packs to all Pro Players as well ... (when you see 'em , you'll know why) ... so , with a coupla extra "Flights" events ; we can get that done as well ...
.
... AND , as an added kicker : we're going to play the McClure Course straight-up , normal-direction , but from the "Alternate Tee Positions" ... these little beauties were set-up and marked by Zucconi a l-o-n-g time ago ... and we haven't played them for a l-o-n-g time ... it's a neat variation on all those Holes ... you'll dig it ...
.
3:00pm ... "Flights" Event ... cheap entry ... 100% payout cash ... draw-doubles ( fun ) ... pro-am style ... with the good ol' mulligans offered up ... on the McClure Alternate Course ... see ya there ...
.
.
wforest
Apr 30 2007, 11:20 AM
... another of these Events (to enhance Players-Packs for Pro-entrants) is on May's Schedule ... "Mothers'-Day-Special" High-Noon-Flights will be at McClure ... on the Alternate-Tees ! ... Sunday , 13th , sign-ups begin 11:20am ...
.
.
... entry is only $3 ... 5-mullies can be had for $5 ...

Sandbagging for Flood Protection
Bags must be filled and placed properly to give the best protection. Any available material can be used to fill sandbags, but sand is easiest to handle. Silt and clay will form a good dike but are more difficult to work with. Different size bags are available, but bags are easier to handle if weight is limited to less than 35 pounds. This is particularly important when teenagers or older persons will be handling the bags.
http://www.ag.ndsu.edu/pubs/ageng/safety/ae626-3.gif
The finished dike can be sealed with a sheet of plastic to improve water tightness. Spread a layer of dirt or sand 1 inch deep and about 1 foot wide along the bottom of the dike on the water side. Lay polyethylene plastic sheeting so the bottom extends 1 foot beyond the bottom edge of the dike over the loose dirt. The upper edge should extend over the top of the dike. The sheeting should be about 6 mils thick. It is generally available in 100-foot rolls from construction supply firms, lumberyards and farm stores.
Place sandbags at about 6-foot intervals to hold down the top edge of the plastic. Place boards or dirt between the bags to prevent winds from disturbing the plastic. Avoid puncturing the plastic with sharp objects or by walking on it.

I need to find out what division my arch enemy "Trey Landers" is playing and avoid that division all together or plant a beer in his bag so he'll get DQ'd. Also, Arkansas's worst "Two Finger Slinger" may be coming so that on-going battle will have to be dealt with. You may have took home a little cash at Chandler but this is a PDGA event so you will ultimately suffer from tournament head and fall to the back of the pack. Unfortunately as always, it sucks to be you. ;)

It was an absolutely perfect round....and like Dave said, it was a true team effort...example, hole 17, we take Wise's drive (still short of the road), my up shot (about 20ft short of the basket), and Anthony's putt (20 footer). ( stepping off soap-box now ) in that regard ; Distance , MTA , Freestyle , and DDC will produce potentially 28 Champions (2 events have partners) also , those Results produce Overall State points throughout those 4-Divisions (sliding scale from 10-points down to 1-point)
.
and then your disc-golf Competition further separates into several SUB-DIVISIONS based on Skill , Ratings , Age you know the routine : Pro , Advanced , Amateur , Novice , Junior , etc. within each Sub-Division , those players compete among themselves for the payout of the group ( cash -or- prizes ) 2 rounds played over an expanded 27-Hole Course a real tester however , the Overall State points produced thru disc-golf Results are once-again determined by the main Division total-scores ( PRO MEN , PRO WOMEN , AM. MEN , AM. WOMEN )
.

... thank ya Commish ...
.
.
.
... here's more answers-before-questions-are-asked :
.
... I was just talking-with and checking-notes-with another WFDF Official ... in some of the past-many-years of our State-Championships Events , Oklahoma has been pretty consistent with all-the-others in how we determine "Overall State-Champion points" ... some "minor" variations by some TD's were tested or used , and happily they have never adversely-affected the total outcome ... our "sliding-scale" system from each Event is right-in-line with WFDF ... I'll have it summed-up in Tournament Literature ... it's basic and it works ...
.
... another side-note : a situation that always "pops-up" is one I'll address now ... traditionally any entrant is "classified" according to their "Disc-Golf Division of Play" ... in Field Events , they are either one of 4-possible-Divisions ( those I mentioned in a previous post ) ...
PRO MEN , PRO WOMEN , AMATUER MEN , AMATEUR WOMEN
.
... an "AM" division player can-enter-and-compete in a "PRO" Field Event ... (even if they also enter-and-compete in the same "AM" Field Event) ... it means another 5-bucks entry-fee from them -and- no "overall-points" are accrued by them for these "PRO" Results ... ... ... it is commonly seen during the "partner Events" > DDC and Freestyle ... a "PRO" may be in the hunt for "Overall" ; and need to ask them to partner ... those situations work a-ok (no points though to the AM) ... the AM's only point-totals come thru their Results in the "AM" Events ... ... ... the "reverse" of this simply does not happen ... no "PRO" is allowed to enter-and-compete in any "AM" Field Event ... that seems square enough ...

smore about the Haikey Course for disc-golf this year Twenty-Seventh Heaven knowing that an expanded layout (with plenty of length) would provide plenty of additional challenge , I originally planned an alternative for Hole 1 it was either going to :
(A) be played from a SouthWest alt.tee (nicknamed Dumpster Diver) -or-
(B) be skipped in the Layout ; after finishing #18 , you would next play Hole # 2
 but
.
.
Im leaving it in the rotation foller me here : Hole 1 Aerial Artistry is such a "swing-hole" at 520-ft as you go Northward to the Basket , the Fairway narrows along the left-side ; O.B. looming in Park-Road and across ; with several shot-stopping trees along the way ; some near the basket and approach-lines ; and some obvious early-wood right off the tee
take Pro Divisions for example : even with this talent-level of Players , this Hole could see wide-range-of-scores from 2 (possible for primo-length-clean-drive / and solid-putt) to 5 (very likely if you send your tee-drive early-O.B.) its a Hole that will make you think-your-way-to-the-Hole ; and then execute well that plan the kind of Hole that could win or lose a round for you
.
.
even though theres a bit-of-a-walk from 18-Basket to Hole-1-Tee , this Hole will remain in the 27-layout for your State disc-golf layout

I have it from a good source that there will be two more limited edition Rocs being raffled off again this weekend. All proceeds will benefit the Oklahoma Open.
These are numbered, limited editions, they were all sold out on the first day they were released. This is your chance to get one. The only other place I know is ebay and I haven't seen but a couple that have brought less than $50 each and some brought around $600.
Help support our Biggest tournament of the year and buy your raffle tickets.
Just see Mr. Twisted himself, Joe Rotan for your tickets. :D

THANK YOU Martin!
It was very nice to be able to look up the first day's scores by the time I finished dinner Saturday evening. ;)
Thank you TDSA, Wayne, Martin and all of the staff of volunteers that were out this weekend. :D

Martin,
Did you enter the scores into the PDGA spreadsheet? You need to change the hole # to 27 from 18.
The ratings are all way too low because of this. Everyone in the tourney would appreciate it ;)

Ok it's day two after my 22,000 foot trudge through pain, mud, rain, and misery. :(.....Big thanks to Wayne and staff for providing me with a whole month of exercise in one weekend. I was a tired soggy dog when it was over but at least I finished. :)....I didn't even mind donating 5 bucks to the Twoputt Facial Restoration Fund. Congrats to Big Dave and all the other winners.
