Mr. "Dad" Loper here.................simply to say "thank you" fellow disc golfer's for having the patience, and I hope some enjoyment with my son Jacob in his posts !

I have to admit, I too have much fun reading Jacobs posts....and no doubt shake my head! Ha.

I also admit I have wonderful laughs at the responses he seems to generate! LOL. (Especially the one word story.....posts!)

This seems to bring much joy to all involved.

This PDGA discussion board has been a "great" influence to my son Jacob. What he has learned from all of you.....my brother and sister's of Disc Golf..........has really fired Jacob up! He is far more educated than I personally could have done in the years to come. He has gleaned from you "valuable" disc golf insights in such a short time of 1 year.....than I have had in the 5 years I have been playing!

This board is a resource for all our family..............and I THANK YOU ALL!

He is a dear son, a clever disc golf player, knowledgeable of disc types and characteristics, and plays well under pressure on the course, and in practice. I know this doesn't happen without such resources as this board and YOU the players helping educate Jacob on EVEN the simple or mundane questions he has asked.

I am grateful to you and PDGA for this outlet, and inlet into this disc golf family!

I envy Jacob, for being able to chat with Schweb, VJenkins, and other Pro's.........at 12 and coming away with a sense that Disc Golf is bigger than us all! That the community of Disc Golfer's really care for the new generation of young kids enthusiastic about EVERY aspect of the game.

I certainly can't keep up with his hunger for disc golf..........all ALONE! LOL. (Besides not being the know it all dad)

Jacob is also maturing much from your advice in these forums, and we should see some improvements in "spelling" (arrrrggghhh) and relevance.

I humbly Thank each and every one of you for adding to our familys disc golf experience!

D Loper #21847

The front nine defines your entire round, It is REAL tough to put a bunch of birdies together on the front. Most of the players that shot real well shot one maybe 2 under on the front then shot 4-6 under on the back. Scoring was a little easier on the back nine.

WX by far the best REAL golf disc that I have ever used for flat out D. Over the last 2 tournaments I have deuced more holes over 350 than I EVER have....Hole 2 at Red Hawk is 375, I deuced it once and missed 30 footers the other 2 rounds.

I'll have to check it out. Don't think I'll be getting 350+ on my thumbers even with it, but sounds like it'll help. And yeah, I don't throw that *other* overhand disc, too weird of a grip too unreliable.

since all the cool kids read this thread, I am going to ask a question here(and b/c i know schwebby will answer it):

if you could pick anywhere to move to for disc golf(local scene/courses/regional tournaments) where would it be and why? btw is has to be somewhere where its not snowing half the year- ive lived with that my whole life and it gets old.

very good chance I am going to be moving in the next few months, and while I haven't been playing as much the past couple years, I'd like to start playing a bit more seriously again. disc golf won't be the reason for moving anywhere, but it could definitely help me choose between different places.

Raleigh or CharloTTe. More than likely Raleigh, Charlotte is only 2hrs and 15 from Raleigh. Raleigh is more centralized. Only snows in this part of NC about once every 2 years. and is gone the next day.

I noticed you said that you throw the star whippet x further than anything else. I have a champion whippet x and it sucks for thumbers. Have you tried a champion whippet x??I can throw a champion firebird 325-350, and i can throw a new z-flick farther than anything els i have tried.

Billy Crump and Brian Graham have contacted Mike and Mike on ESPN thru the PDGA. They are trying to get them down to The USDGC this year and do a live feed during the event.

We need your help: to whomever reads this post, if you could just send an email to them and give them some good reasons why they should come down to The USDGC.

I am going to be emailing them several times a week giving them different reasons why they should give DISC GOLF a chance.

Billy wants thousands of emails to flood their computers. This could happen with enough effort from our community of Disc Golf.

The email is Mike and Mike

Thanks for all of your efforts

Schweb - What exactly is "big" D for your thumbers? What disc is longer, firebird or whippet? What disc is the longest you've used?

718 , 2138 - Movin on up... slowly. But not really catchin' anybody. lol

this thread will probably be removed soon (that should be interesting)... just guessing since they obliterated the 'pdga slogan' thread for breaking one of the new rules. I would think this one would fall under the lines of the 'no bump' clause. Sad day

You should go to the Glass Blown Open in Emporia!! Super-Tour on Apr 18-19, 2009. Two great 18-hole courses all in one park, with really cool trophies to boot! Barry came last year, and the Open field had 41 people. Going to be bigger and better this year for sure.

Hey Schwebby,

If you were masters-age eligible, which division would you have played in during this recent tournament?
