We want to break last year's attendance bigtime! So please encourage any and all lady golfers you know who play at your home course to come and check it out.
For ladies who haven't played in a tournament environment, this is a great first time event. We all love the guys, but it is nice to have something that's all ours, where we're not just the afterthought, but the spotlight.
This might be a way to get your girlfriend to have a better understanding and apprecation of what the tournament bug is all about. So, guys, bring us your girls!
See ya'll soon!

everything is coming along nicely.
This year we invited local clubs to set up grily stations around the course and it was a hit.
You ladies will enjoy 3 stations this year
Waterloo, Temple, and Live Oak will be hosting the stations.
And for you ladies that have not experienced this.
A girly station is a water stop that will have fruits, face wipes, candies and of course water. Anyone running women only event should run with this idea......it is a big hit

We reached the %300 payout last year and will do it again.
You dont want to miss this! Come be a part of history. And all you traveling pros need to make it a point to attend women only events, it is a chance to give back to your sport and PROmote womens sports. I have always tried to schedule the TWC around big events and N.Ts to get the upper players to attend the TWC. But it is not always in the schedule. My question to the traveling pro would be why go play with the same 8 or 10 ladies at some N.T ,when you can be apart of growing womens attendance to all events. You ladies enjoying the spot light of PRO golf hoodshould give back to the sport. And many of yah do......but its time to take it to another level. Its not like you are giving up a great payout to play at the TWCJust ask the Courtney about her pay day last year. We have obtained spots for MSDGC and plenty added to the pro payout..So what is it that keeps you away?

It hurts me that I cannot be at this AMAZING tournament this year. I am just too pregnant and too off balanced to play. I highly encourage any woman to play an event run by Vinnie. He is the king of knowing how to treat women right at a tourney! I would even recommend that the Womens Nationals be somewhere where he would have a hand in it. He always thinks about even the smallest details, like chocolate!! what other tourney offers women chocolate? Wilco is a superb course right down to the rocked off paths between holes. a must play! You beginners might not have such an easy time at it but it is definately something to work up to. just keep it in the fairways.
Just wanted to send my support of Vinnie and the TWC and the HUGE payout and treatment you will get if you make it to this tourney. Plus, you could win a free entry to Marshall Street. www.msdgc.com (http://www.msdgc.com) which is my #1 tourney of the year. It really doesn't get any better than this for any girl tourney ever, so PLAY TWC!!!!

thanks for the support! Ed and I strive to make it all it can be. This will be by far the biggest payout to date....I just hope the numbers of player grow with the payout. The last thing a T.D wants is a low turn out...tends to make running the next year questionable

Unfortunately, this is my ex's weekend and she won't allow me to bring her. I can't think of how many tourneys she has missed because of this. Is it possible that TDs could consider that standard non-custodial visitation is the 1st, 3rd, and 5th weekends of the month? Our church does !!! This tourney is on the 3rd weekend of the month so her mom gets her. :(
Just a thought.
Currently the only tourney I have her for is Huckfest. She finished 1st place Rec Women last year at 14 yrs. old. :D
I can still come and staff or spot. Please let me know, Vinnie.

I wonder how many parent/players have this problem. How many have the opposite problem, wanting to play but have visitation that weekend? I wonder how often custody issues don't allow a child to do other activities. My heart goes out to you and your daughter, River Rat, and to all other single parents and their children. I can't (and don't want to) imagine your loss.

Come on out feller anytime. It would be great to have a huge gallery for the ladies.
I am finger crossed we have a big field.
I don't understand why we would not. I am disappointed in our nations pro ladies. Why wouldn't someone want to play the event? BIG PAYOUT, HUGH PLAYER PACK, and being the catalyst to inspire the growth of women's golf. Call it a summit of some sorts. I guess playing against the same ladies in a N.T event makes more since. Maybe next year (with all the sponsorship I drum up) we will have free entry fee for everyone. And if no one show for that then I will start a quilting circle and all the male golfer could donate old disc golf shirts for the ladies to quilt /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif...the hell with all that free work.
I will say if only 20 or so ladies show...they will be treated like queens no matter the numbers.

Hey Vinnie,
I can tell you that probably the only 2 reasons that any of the "touring pro women" aren't attending your awesome event is 1. Augusta Hall of Fame this year marks the grand opening of the National disc golf center. and 2. most of the ladies are already on the east coast side of the world because of the Bowling Green tourney last weekend. When you tour, and the gas prices are what they are right now, you have to weigh your profit potential with the cost of travel, and unfortunately driving from bowling green to austin, then back to the next big tour stop, (Lexington, Ky or Maryland), would not be a possibility. I can bet that the pro turnout would be better if you could schedule TWC around other NT's and A tiers that are within 8 or so hours. You know me well, and know that I'm just saying this out of honesty and nothin-but-love-for-ya-man. right??? Cause you run an awesome tourney and it deserves every chance it can get of being huge!!!

Vinnie, Just do what you're good at and this will be a great event. I was hoping to make it down this weekend, but making a living has forced me to stay in DFW this weekend.
Hope to be there next year.

We sent our resident "Pro Women" off yesterday with a hug and some cold hard cash to help with her expenses. Have a good time and bring us a home title Emily!!! j/k, I praise Vinnie, Ed and Rick for making this event a reality. Long live women in disc golf.

I'm betting there will be more than a few Waterloo ladies playing. And hopefully lots of Waterloo men helping out.
Plus the club is sending $100 cash & $100 of merch to help out the festivities.
Good luck to everyone, and thanks Ed & Vinnie for throwing such a great tournament for the wonderful women of disc golf! :D

Unfortunately SuperGirl (Nicole) will not be at the tournament this year. She was really looking forward to playing in the TWC and was very disappointed to learn that she had to miss this year's tournament.
Although she would love to be there, she has 2 soccer games this weekend. These are very important games for the team and I think her trainer/coach would have a heart attack if Nicole missed these games. Plus Nicole doesn't want to let her teammates down.
She wanted me to wish all the ladies good luck and hopes they all have a great time at this year's TWC.
Thanks...........Rick

Thanks to all the Ladies and Staff that made this possible. We have enjoyed having you in our House-ROUND ROCK. John Hovey and all the escorts you are the bomb. Shannon Lujan thanks for your help, and thanks for having your 2 daughters there for all of us to enjoy. Harris's and Justice's again thanks for the most memorable girls tourney in the history of my golf carreer. That was incredible on hole 18 yesterday on there final 9. Let Carlie know we have here putters, and they were still smokin when I picked them up off the table. Live Oak and the Lolo's made this such a memorable event as well, Now that's a girlie station. Waterloo and Temple your efforts haven't gone unnoticed either, thanks a bunch.
Congrats to the winners-FPO-Emily-awesome golf,FPM- Ana-you killed it out there, FW1-Paige awesome shooting, FW2-Katie-way to hold them off, FW3-Sarah bringing it home to Waco. Me and Vinnie really enjoyed watching the final round, our zen moment. I'm so pround of my wife Lala coming back from 5th to take 2nd place and get the last invite to Marshall Street, and the $290 was her highest payout.
Thanks Fly-in-High for the title sponsership, and Sassy Pants for making the trip down from Oregon. This one's in books see you next year with your friends and Vinnie let's get some sleep.

Thanx to Edman for understanding all the nights I was out golfing to get ready for this - my boss & employees for letting me ditch work :D. ok i just wanted to say this is by far becoming one of my favorite events -- not as big as last year -- but hey we can change that -- i enjoyed being an escort on sunday for the top adv card all day -- not quite my dream of being a p0rn * but hey a day as a male escort aint too bad -- i dont think i want to play any of the ladies i watched throw this weekend -- -- cant wait til next year -- still wondering why i dont see as many men with the video recorders at any other tournament i have been to in the past 2 years??? HA!!!!!!!!

As always, an enjoyable event. As of last night, TIP-Texans In Peoria has raised ~$800 for Texan's heading to Peoria in September. We raised $300 at TSDGC from consession and BBQ lunch, and an additional $500 was raised over the past weekend.
Thanks to all that supported the raffle! And I hope the ladies all enjoy their towels. See ya'll next year.

What a great weekend.....the ladies that attended had a GREAT time and got paid :D
Many made this happen and a great big ol Texas thanks goes out to each and everyone that made it happen.Things are already in motion for next year. We will bring TWC2008 bigger than this year. All we need is to the ladies to bring it BIG.
The TD report has been sent in and the tournaments fees are all paid.TWC2007 is in the books, now I can sleep /msgboard/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

USDGC has a dvd
NOW twc has a DVD
Rob is doing a edited to music dvd for the full event. Rob is selling them for very small amount (I think $5)
I want to mention earlier but the final round for the juniors was very cool.
Five lil ladies playing while 40+ in the gallery.
Seem to me there was a a lot of dust flying in the air....sure saw a lot of teary eyes ;)
The juniors alone made me a very proud TD.

Albert Lirette #28113,
You may not be aware, but the quantity of large picture files you posted is problematic. I have a 1.5 Mbps DSL connection, and even downloading at 150 KB/sec, it's taking forever for these pages to load. These pictures total over 50 MB, and for dial-up users, the wait would be intolerable. People looking for scores or other relevant tournament info shouldn't have to endure this.
I know you're trying to do a good deed, but next time please use thumbnails or a link to a website that can host photos.

To Moderator:
Your rules say no images over 800x600. All photos have been re-sized per P.D.G.A. specification.
Sorry, can you please change the specifications if I am breaking the rules of the message boards?
Thank you.
alirette
Apr 23 2007, 10:39 PM
My bad...I miss read the rule. Images should be no larger than 125 x 600.

Sorry.

I received the following from Jeff LaGrassa # 12616 (Moderator)...
Actually, that is for signature images, which aren't allowed at all.
But basically, just use some discretion. A few 800 x 600 pictures is going to be perfectly fine. But we can't have over 50 MB worth of files. In that case, we just ask that you host the pictures on some other website.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!

I'll be taking down the pictures by this coming weekend to free up space. Please contact me with an e-mail addy and image number if you would like a high resolution sent to you. All of these pictures are very printer friendly and easy to turn into an 8x10 size for framing. To find the image number just right click on the picture you want, then left click on properties. Write down the IMG number and send it in a PM along with an e-mail addy to send it to.
This was the most fun I have had at any disc golf tourney.
Thanks to all and Vinnie. :D
