Purchase a limited edition disc.......Win yourself an 18 hole course
DGA is excited to announce the creation of a new fundraiser program that will be unveiled this year for the 2007 Amateur World Championships to be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The main component of the fundraiser is the sale of a limited edition Clear Sparkle Squall (http://www.discgolfassoc.com/images/am-world07-sparkle_lrg.jpg) midrange disc. A total of 1000 of these special run discs have been produced with a custom Am Worlds logo. The added twist is that each disc purchased will come with one raffle ticket. Each raffle ticket from discs purchased will be added to a drawing that will be made during the week of Am Worlds. There will be only one winner of this drawing and that winner will receive an 18 hole Blood Red Hammertone Mach III course. The winner will have their very own one-of-a-kind course to do with as they wish.
This is a great opportunity for individuals as well as clubs across the country. Whether you want to install your own private course to keep all for yourself or if you are looking for a great chance to win a beautiful 18 hole course for your local community, this fundraising raffle gives you the opportunity to win one for FREE.
The Blood Red Hammertone Mach III Disc Pole Holes (http://www.discgolfassoc.com/images/am_worlds_raffle-red_mach3l.jpg) are being produced special for this raffle. DGA rarely powder coats the Mach III Pole Holes and has never in this color, making the set for this course that much more special. We feel that because of this fact, the limited fundraiser discs will be sold very quickly. We encourage disc golf clubs to pool their resources to purchase as many of these discs as possible in order to up their chances of winning. Over 200 have already sold and we expect them to move quickly.
The discs are being sold exclusively online through www.santacruzdisc.com (http://www.santacruzdisc.com) . We will also make a limited number of these discs available to authorized tournaments that work closely with DGA.
Please take advantage of this great opportunity to support the 2007 Am Worlds, receive a great collectors disc, and have a chance to win an amazing 18 hole course. In our opinion, every purchase is a winner.

DGA and Santa Cruz Disc have been awesome with this program. It's unbelievable just how much DGA has supported the Am Worlds from the start two years ago.
Check out the above post and get yourself a few of these discs. With only 1000 being made they are certainly going to be collectors. Besides that YOU CAN WIN AN 18-HOLE <font color="red">BLOOD RED COURSE!</font>
Thank you for supporting the 2007 Am World Championships (http://www.2007amworlds.com).

I just spoke with DGA the other day and they said how the discs are moving pretty quickly. Clubs are pooling their resources together to purchase mass quantities of discs. Pretty sweet. Everyone is getting a very limited run disc and also increasing their chance to win an 18 hole course. What more could you ask for?
It looks like I might have some of these special discs available down at Bowling Green during the flymart. Get them while you can because once they are gone, they're gone!

Terry,
I keep trying to get in touch with you about the upcoming am worlds. I've sent emails, called and PM'ed you.
I also typed in a message right above your last post.
Is there a reason you are not responding to me?
Is Gateway getting blocked out of am worlds in Wisconsin like last year in Oklahoma????
I have also tried contacting Joe Rotan without a call back either. I heard he is in charge of merchandising, is this true?
Is there someone else I should contact about supplying products for Am worlds?

Dave,
Once again your business savvy is something to be admired by all... JUST TO CLARIFY. The TDSA (Oklahoma as you call us)tried numerous times to get Gateway at AM Worlds. You were not smart enough to join the program. In turn you were not repped at one of the biggest AM World's to date. It appears you still have not learned from that experience.
For further clarification I am volunteering for AM Worlds 2007... Not in charge of merchandise. You have NOT called me in over a year. You want to talk to me I suggest calling me direct 405-206-9558.

Hey Terry thanks for the Response, I also received and email from Brian at the pdga.
I could be available in the morning for a conference call.
I will call you or Dave G about 9:00 central.
Joe,
I have called you a few times leaving voice messages and emailed a few as well, using the email from your website.
Are you in charge of purchasing prizes for participants in this year am worlds?

Hey Everyone,
Sales have been strong on the Am Worlds Squalls. There has been some question whether you have to be present at Am Worlds in order to win. You do not. All raffle ticket numbers are being documented with the purchasers contact info here at DGA. If the winner is not present at Am Worlds we will be contacting them shortly after the drawing to give them the good news.
It's been cool to watch where the orders have been coming from. Currently California and Wisconsin are out to a commanding lead with about 24% of the tickets each (actually Cali has 24.3% of the sales and Wisconsin is behind with an even 24%). We have been seeing little spikes in sales in areas where people have been talking about them and getting their friends and fellow club members purchasing them. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. I will try to periodically update the numbers here on the message board. The current breakdown is as follows: <ul type="square"> California 24.3% Wisconsin 24% Texas 8.3% Arizona 6.6% Alabama 5.2% Iowa 3.8% Colorado 3.1% Minnesota 2.8% Oregon 2.4% Illinois, Kansas, Michigan 2.1% Ohio 1.7% Massachusetts 1.4% Louisiana, Missouri, Montana 1% Florida, Mississippi, North Carolina, New York, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee 0.7% Georgia, Hawaii, Kentucky, New Jersey, South Dakota, Virginia 0.3%
Currently only 30 states are represented. Get the word out on your local club discussion forums so that these percentages start evening out.
Support Am World....Get a great collectors disc....Win a free course!

Thanks to everyone for their continued support of Am Worlds. Fundraiser sales are still moving well with about 700 discs sold of the 1000 total. There is still time for you and/or your club to get one of these beautiful collectors discs and be entered into the raffle for 18 Blood Red Mach III's.
Sales continue to be strong in some area, and slow in others. We want everyone to have a fighting chance at getting this course. Currently, California and Wisconsin are neck in neck on total number of discs sold. We have had a lot of tournament and club support in both of these states and the sales numbers prove it.
Though personally I'd love to see these baskets dropped in the ground here in Cali, I'd like this to be a close battle. Here are a few things you and your club can do to up your chances.
1.) Get together with your club members, pool your resources and purchase as many of the discs as you can. Or drain the club slush fund. (not recommending...just an idea) ;)
2.) Print out THIS FLYER (http://www.discgolfassoc.com/download/sparkle-squall-flyer.pdf) and post it on your course message board so that the casual players can learn about the fundraiser and find out where they can purchase the discs.
3.) Link this post and/or the above flyer on your club homepage and forum so that your local members can read about it.
As you can see below, there is a battle royale brewing between WI and CA. I know T Miller is pushing hard to have the most sales. He is edging it out in this latest tally, but these numbers don't include the sales we had at this past weekends "Steady" Ed Memorial Masters Cup.
<ul type="square"> Wisconsin 23.3% California 23.1% Texas 6.5% Arizona 5.2% Alabama 4.5% Minnesota 4.3% Colorado 4.1% Michigan 2.6% Iowa 2.4% Illinois, Oregon 1.7% Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee 1.5% Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi, Ohio 1.3% Alaska, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania 1.1% Idaho, Massachusetts, South Dakota, Virginia 0.9% Florida, Montana 0.6% Canada, New York, Washington 0.4% Hawaii, Kentucky, New Jersey 0.2%
Keep getting the word out and thanks again for supporting the 2007 Amateur World Championships.

This weekend's Greater Milwaukee Open | Am Worlds Preview event (http://www.takeflighttoday.com/product_info.php?cPath=24&products_id=108) will also have a fresh supply of these discs.
At Standing Rocks a few weeks back I was surrounded by dozens of people that wanted to get their hands of a few of these. My stock has been replenished and they will be available along with other Am Worlds merchandise at the flymart on Saturday night.
It would be sweet if we could get Wisconsin up over the 50% range. Over 100+ courses (and counting)!

Hey Everyone,
We have about a month until Am Worlds begins and fundraiser/raffle sales continue to pour in. There is still time to get your hands on one of these sweet discs and enter yourself for a chance to win an amazing course.
I have an update on the numbers for everyone. There definitely has been a climb in representation in some states. Much of this climb is due to the efforts of those clubs and event organizers that have stepped up in support of this unique promotion. I'm sure the possibility of getting this sweet course near them is enticing as well. I'd like to thank our friends Terry Miller, Timmy Gill, Will Timmons (Sky Southwest), AZDGC, Damon Neth (Disc Nation), Jay Harbour (Huk Lab) and everyone else who has stepped up to assist in spreading the word.
We will not be sending anymore of the fundraiser discs out to tournaments as we are getting close to the event. There is still time though to get your discs. Discs will be sold online at Santa Cruz Disc (http://www.santacruzdisc.com/) until about a week before Am Worlds begins or while supplies last. If there are still a limited number left I will be bringing some to Milwaukee to sell at the Fly Mart. We have tentatively scheduled the raffle drawing for the Wednesday of Worlds, 7/25. The location, event, and time is still being determined.
Here are the updated percentages by state. As you can see, Cali has regained the lead over Wisconsin...sorry T-Dogg.
<ul type="square"> California - 23.6% Wisconsin - 21.7% Texas - 5.7% Arizona - 5.2% Minnesota - 4.5% Colorado - 4.3% Alabama - 4.0% Michigan - 3.3% Georgia, Iowa, Illinois - 2.3% Louisiana - 1.9% Ohio, Oregon - 1.6% Florida, North Carolina - 1.4% Pennsylvania, Tennessee - 1.2% Idaho, Kansas, Missouri, Mississippi - 1.0% Alaska, Oklahoma - 0.9% Massachusetts, South Dakota, Virginia, West Virginia - 0.7% Montana - 0.5% Canada, New York - 0.3% Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, New Jersey, Utah - 0.2%
You still have a little time so get your order in. Can you imagine having 18 of THESE (http://www.discgolfassoc.com/images/am_worlds_raffle-red_mach3l.jpg) ?

Big Props to our local club, the De LaVeaga Disc Golf Club (http://www.delaveagadiscgolf.com/) in Santa Cruz, CA.

There has been a late surge in sales with people from all parts hoping the discs they purchase hold the "Golden Ticket". There's still time to purchase before online sales closing sometime tomorrow. Most likely in the late night hours. Santa Cruz Disc (http://www.santacruzdisc.com)
For those of you attending Am Worlds, I will have the remaining discs on hand with me when I arrive. I plan on having them with me at the Players Meeting Monday night as well as at the Flymart. Come find me at the Flymart early because the drawing for the winner of the course will occur later that night. Our plan is to have the drawing near the end of the Flymart.
I'm looking forward to AM Worlds as well as the drawing. It's going to be an exciting event. I look forward to meeting many of you there.

We don't have official numbers because we don't know exactly how many discs Scott sold onsite just before the drawing, but there was indeed about 1000 tickets in the bowl. We sold about 900 discs online and at tournaments and the rest were sent to Wisconsin for the FlyMart. YOU DID NOT NEED TO BE PRESENT TO WIN. If you noticed in the video, Scott immediately consulted a huge stack of papers to look up the number and find out who had won.
As a point of reference here is a roll of 2000 tickets:
Roll of 2000 tickets (http://www.nationalticket.com/images/tickets/roll/Roll-Raffle-Tickets-2.jpg)
There were half that many in the bowl. If you still doubt the number of tickets in the bowl, you might want to perform an experiment and cut up 1000 scraps of paper and see how large of a bowl it takes to hold them.
If you haven't had a chance to throw these discs yet, I definitely recommend giving them a try. They are super straight when thrown with a bit of hyzer. I've been using it for tunnel shots in wooded areas because the Sparkle plastic holds up well.
Please feel free to contact me or DGA directly if you have any questions or concerns. I do not work for DGA, my website was the online distributor for the Sparkle Squall.

Hello Everyone,
I had hoped to log on here sooner to give an update on how the raffle went Tuesday night. I'm still here in Milwaukee and have been to busy to sit for a second to post.
The drawing was an exciting event. The Flymart seemed to be the best place to hold the drawing, with the large number of people in attendance. We had originally wanted to hold the drawing at 9pm but it got pushed back a bit, to 9:30 due to the large amount of traffic at the DGA booth and other booths. I asked young Brock Dowell, who was standing near our booth prior to the drawing, if he wanted to pull the ticket for the lucky winner. Needless to say, he was very excited to have the honor.
Prior to pulling the winner for the 18 hole course, we had set up an additional raffle drawing for tournament players only. This winner received a Red Mach Lite and had to be present at the Flymart to win. The first two names drawn were not present after calling their names numerous times. The third time was a charm though and the lucky winner of the Mach Lite was Guillermo Avalos from Houston Texas. I was happy for Guillermo. I've met him several times in his travels west to SC for the Masters Cup the past couple years. He was stoked to win an in fact he could be found last night putting in the parking lot of the host hotel on the basket until about midnight.
The drawing for the course couldn't have gone better in my opinion. When Brock drew the number, it took Terry and I a second to go threw the spreadsheet of ticket numbers to find the winner associated to that number. Before we even had a chance to call the name, we heard the cheering coming from the back of the room. Marcus Prue came charging through the crowd holding up his Sparkle Squall with the winning ticket still attached. His Squall had been purchased online some time ago and he just so happened to have it on him at the Flymart. It worked out great to have him on site with the disc so DiscGolfTV could catch the reaction and look on his face. It is safe to say that Marcus was in a bit of shock. Big thanks go to Alan at DiscGolfTV for being on hand to catch the moment and for sharing it with the world.
The odds were much higher that the winner was not going to be present at the event. Most of the Squalls were purchased online by people that were not going to be present at the event. We were prepared for this. My plan was to call this person on the phone right after the drawing and let the large group of people in attendance congratulate him with a large cheer. It turned out that we did not need to do this. The fact that Marcus was present with the disc made the event that much more amazing.
To address the questions about the number of tickets in the bowl, it may have looked like there were not 1000, but I assure everyone that there was. There is not much mass to those small tickets and as you can see by the picture of a roll of 2000 tickets, they can fit easily into the bowl we had on hand.
I want to thank everyone who participated in this fundraiser raffle in the inaugural year. In the opinion of all of us involved, it was an overwhelming success. Special thanks go to
<ul type="square"> Terry T-Dogg Miller for helping me dream this idea up Derek D Kotval who has been my partner in crime at DGA on this project and has been the man who has done a majority of the hard work behind the scenes in stamping the discs as well data entry for the ticket info. Thanks bro, for the hard work. And finally to Stan Tre Pratt and Rob WhatsHapnin Hapner at SantaCruzDisc.com for their shared vision and support in getting these discs to everyone who ordered online.
Our plan is to dedicate an area on the DGA site as a living archive of each years winners as well as progress and info on where the course is installed. I have a feeling the Appleton, WI area will be having a very special new course sometime soon.
We will be releasing info in the near future on next years fundraiser which will be held at Pro/Am Worlds in Kalamazoo, MI.
Thats it for now.I have a plane to catch back to the west coast.

Congrats to Marcus on his winning the baskets. Couldn't have happened to a better man. I also happen to be the guy who purchased the Squall for him. I purchased 7 of the Squalls and gave him that one. He's a good friend and one lucky SOB.
I also know that there will be no quick decision on where the Bloodred baskets will be installed. Marcus has a dream of installing them on a private/pay to play course of his own. (Especially because no one wants to see these baskets vandalized) We're all excited to see them stay in Wisconsin, but don't expect them to be in the ground soon. We'll keep everyone posted.
Thank you to the DGA for making this all possible! Marcus' dreams are one step closer because of all those involved in making it happen. Especially my credit card. Kudos and good luck to everyone in Worlds.
Enjoy Wisconsin!

Anyone remember the names of people they called for the Mach Lite before the 3rd person won?
