I have a two-year old skillshot basket that has been all over the east coast with me. I just noticed that the fabric on the bottom basket part is being worn through by the metal spokes that hold it up taut.

Is there any way to patch or repair this fabric damage to extend the life of the basket? There is only one or two spots where this is happening, and the basket has lots of life left if I can slow down this wearing.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As an urban dweller, a permanent basket is out of the question for now (I wish!). My next basket will likely be the Mach Lite.

Has anyone out there successfully extended the life of their skillshot basket by slowing down the wear through of the fabric?

Thanks!

No clue how to fix a SkillShot, but Mach Lites are awesome. Just thought I'd throw that out there...

Ypu can take the fabric basket off and then take it to a semstress and have patches put in it.

First, before you take off the basket, mark the spots of the metal spokes when it is fully extended. Then colapse the basket and take it off. The best place to take it is some place that does high school letter jackets or blankets. They will have the heavey duty sewing machines. Have a small patch of about 2x2 cordura nylon sewn onto the inside of the basket where you marked it. I would do this to all of the places where the spokes touches the basket when extended.

Hope this helps. I have had a Skill Shot since they first came out, got one of the originals when it still said CHING on it. Great basket for travelling and inside.

They used to also sell just the basket and top seperately for replacements, don't know if they still do but you might contact ZONEDRIVEN and find out, if that's the way you want to go.
