As a resident of Indiana's NW corner I exist in the shadow of Chicago. I have played most of the courses in the Northern half of the state and several in the southern half. I invite anyone that has an opinion on any Indiana course to share it here. My 2 home courses and my 2 favorites are Lemon Lake, in Cedar Lake, Indiana, and Harold Rogers Lakewood park in Valparaiso, Indiana. Valpo has 21 holes so far although extras are added for tournaments. League play is Thursdays and you can contact me for details. The course is an amazing design of unique shots on very hill land. It has got to be one of the best designed and maintained courses I have had the pleasure of enjoying. Lemon Lake is my first love. The course has grown to 2 18 hole courses and the third course will be in by this summer....weather permitiing. Peru Indiana is the next stop on the Indiana disc golf tour. 5 courses are packed into an hours radius including the first course ever installed outside California....old school disc golf community here....I also enjoy Deming Park in Terre Haute (southern Indiana). Lots of blanks to fill in on the Indiana disc golf scene....have at it.....

Karst in Bloomington used to be a goog course until the 4-H dept took half of the course back.

Crestmont in Bloomington is a nice course requires a variety of shots

Indian Springs in Trafalgar is located on a ball golf course (FLY 18). Homemade basket but do a pretty good job of catching. LONG

I was born a Hoosier and still make it up there once in a while, my older brother has a private nine hole in Fort Wayne that's pretty nice along with the other eighteen hole courses there, Shoaff, West Swinney, and Moser

I lived up there for six months back in 96 and worked in Mishawaka, nice 18 hole course there too,George Wilson, and South Bend isn't bad,Rum Village, but it's kinda short

if you like tight and technical, try Ox Bow in Goshen

Lemon Lake is fun but I've never shot very well on either course. The water hole is lots of fun, crazy risk/reward there.

Fun memories at George Wilson, drove #18 and birdied it once. Lots of unique holes, I like the power line hole and #9.

Haven't played the new layout, but the old Ox Bow was sweet. The short hole with the bridge over the marsh is awesome. And of course the 3-hole gauntlet is memorable.

There are alot of hidden discgolf treasures in In. Peru golf rocks, good mix of courses good teepads. Logansport (France park) 24 holes good mix, & peaceful. (natural tees) A new course ,Valley View outside of resort town ,Monticello is a private course & a must see for the serious golfer! There are not many photos of these gems but soon will. So stop through Indiana see some good golf &Hoosier hospitality. Also visit " Indy discgolf.com"

Pieradise in Peru is a great course and has the best baskets ever made, spiderwebs. They catch everything.
The course is cool too. I have only played the 27-hole short layout. Apparently the long 18 hole layout has a few holes over 500. Some out in the open, some woods, some a mix of both.

The Patoka Lake State Park course (in southern Indiana) is a gorgeous technical course! It is only a 9-hole course, but is very difficult with dense rough, tight fairways, and major elevation changes on some of the holes. It is lengthy, and has disc-eating cedar trees... /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Nicole, thank you for the recognition of Patoka Lake... its just nestled into its own little place..

It should be fully expanded by this spring time to an 18 hole course!!! I'd love to hear any questions or comments you have about the course, but you've already named some of the finer aspects. take care!

Chuck,
Valley View, huh? I've heard the best thing about that course are the homemade pies!!!

Actually, that new course across the road from Valley View, currently in the planning stages, looks to be a real dandy. I can't wait to start throwing across, up and down that ravine.

I don't know how those pies taste, but you should be trying to sell them. Think about, they are made from scratch by the local 'ladies' and their fella using only natural ingredients collected from the premises. A completely organic process. These might just appeal to our buddy, Blue Sky. :D

Looks like we have better weather lined-up for league this weekend. I have plans on Sunday, but will definitely be looking to play on Saturday.

I gotta second the MESKER PARK IN EVENSVILLE, IN
Definately the best course in Indiana I have ever played, great use of the land, challenging. If I lived there again would change my address to the Park's address.

I must agree, Mesker is one sweet course, the island hole on hole 14 is awesome as well as number 9 over the old school cobblestone bridge...

And the crazy animal noises from the zoo...! Great job Evansville!
