No, we just are replacing with new discatchers. The others were faded and had yellow baskets, so we wanted to bring them up to standard. The old ones will be reconditioned. Maybe we can buy them back at a discount when we get things lined up for the second Kinston course.

Thanks for all the accolades, we try hard to keep improving the course as we can. I hope to have a nice treat for the eyes after tomorrow afternoon. Some major equipment may be making a stop at the course. I don't get to practice much, but I do spend a lot of time at least associated with disc golf and that is cool. Glad you're coming Alex, you are one of my favorite guys to shoot with. Hopefully we will be able to cook this year and you won't have to cook up those noodles in the parking lot. See you soon man!

We are working on good invcentitives to get people out. If any one has any Ideas that would get people to show up, pay out well, both Pros and Ams, and reward people at the end of the year for consistancy let me know!

I'm thinking about signing up for the tourney, and from reading all the posts it seems I'd be crazy not to. I am wondering if there are random draw doubles on Friday, not that this is a deal breaker....I just need to know what time to arrive. Also, I was wondering if any locals had any info on the camping (tent)facilities at Neuseway Park. I called the office and the person on the other line was less than helpful. I just want to know if they are adequate/safe. Any other suggestions for camping would be great as well.
Thanks and I hope I can make it.
JoelSmith
May 11 2007, 10:49 AM
We will have random draw doubles Friday at 5:30pm. To finish before dark, from the longs, we need to start as close to 5:30pm as possible.
As for camping, Neuseway Park (http://www.neusewaypark.com) is your best option. PM me if you have specific questions and I'll try to find out for you. I haven't camped there, but I did do their web site. It looks pretty nice.
Other lodging options close to the course include the Holiday In Express and the Westpark Inn.

As of noon Wednesday, we have 89 registered players. Who's going to get that last spot?
When we fill, online registration will allow you to sign up for the Wait List. I'll post the wait list on the web site. We won't take any payment for wait list sign-ups. If you're on the list and want to play if spots open up, be here Saturday morning.

After seeing the course yesterday, and all the work that has been done, I'm thinking the record 47 is going to be broken this weekend. And I'm thinking the winning score will be between 200 and 204. Look foward to seeing everyone this weekend, make sure to descend DownEast safely.

Open winner will be someone who is better than me lol
I predict either C Lee or Schweb, but there are some strong golfers in the open. I also smell first cash for one maybe two GVDG members.
I think Myers has a strong shot at Advanced. Or it could be local favorite Noble, but don't count out the Wave.
Anyway, I think GVDG will be well represented. Lets remember though that the main goal is to have fun playing this game.

The inspiration was not based on events or activities though you put on a great events, I am encouraged more by dedication, thoughtfulness, and character. There are quite a few people that I admire down east and there are a good handful of TD's that put their heart into their course and tournament. I know how much you care about what you do for disc golf and Greenville, I feel the same way about Kinston. That is where the inspiration comes from. You care about what you do and you put your heart into it.

Great event Joe, all your hard work and planning made for one of the best events I've ever played. I really admire how you and Mr. Faison show appreciation to others at your respective events. Thanks to Joe, Christian, Joel, and Tim for all the hard work at the course. I still remember playing the first event at Kinston when Harold ran the event. When I left that day covered in poison ivy I swore I would never come back. The work that everybody has done at the course is AMAZING. You could get poison ivy before even by staying on the fairway what little bit there was.
For Joe running his second event he should really be commended for pulling off a great event. The club has come a long way in the past year and I am happy to have the Kings of Kinston as friends of mine. Joe always goes out of his way to make sure everybody has a good time and then manages to play well on top of that.
The Stein was definitely unexpected and it is much appreciated. I look forward to the kings cup next year already and any other new changes that the club comes up with. Great event. Many others have also commented to me how impressed they were with the event and how smoothly things went..
I hope that Mrs. Noble understands Joe's passion for the game and will allow him to participate in a few events next year. I am sure Joe will be a happy dad as well though and will want to spend time with the new addition to his family.
Thanks again to all and if there is anything I can do to help let me know and I will try to help out however I can.
With all that said....
NCPoints is in the process of being updated now. My computer is processing everything for the web as I type this.
The results will be posted later this evening.
