Usually, I hate umbrellas... but if I am playing disc golf I hate throwing wet discs more. Now, I realize that I could try to throw so fast that the water wouldn't hit the disc, but I'm pretty sure such theories have been disproven.

So... what is the best type of umbrella people are using, what's it cost, and where can it be found? Thanks!

I got an umbrella from walmart in the Golf section and it is the best umbrella ever. It was called a "severe weather, tour umbrella". Definately the best $12 I ever spent. It's huge, has a reinforced shaft, easy to use, has doubled fabric on top, and has some patented way to keep it from flipping inside out, and it's lightweight.

I would first say Walmart or Sam's Club, as they have large, decently crafted umbrellas for $15 and under.

I would next say check out huk lab. They have a very cool umbrella that is square, so it won't roll on you, with reinforced wind vents so it won't turn inside out, and it has the huk lab logo on it. It's upwards of $30 though.

Be careful about the one from Sam's Club. I bought the set of 2 (one 64" and one 58") with the auto-open feature, I believe they are the Member's Mark brand(?). Yesterday was the first time to try it out. Nice and large, easy to open and fairly lightweight. The interior structure seemed to be solid. However, on the way to hole #4's tee box, a gust of wind caught it the wrong way and flipped it inside out and broke one of the support spokes :(. I think I can fix it with some small plastic "zip ties", but still I'm disappointed with my purchase.

It's true that they aren't the best quality, but weren't they like $13 for the pack of two?

Affordability doesn't go very far when you're soaked by hole #5 and carrying a broken umbrella to the next trash can :(. Just passing on my experience from yesterday.

square umbrellas are great for disc golf. They don't roll.

Usually, I hate umbrellas... but

Usually, I hate retailers with names ending in -mart (e.g. WalMart, KMart, Sam's Club)

SportMart, however, has delivered on multiple occasions with good stuff at good prices. I found an umbrella in their gold department for $10 and it's held up well in wind and wet.
