I was just wondering why there are 5 open players who acceped cash and are well over 955 allowed to sign up for advanced in this tourny. Are they gonna be allowed to play?
I was just wondering
Zac Cobus rating 963/ 2006 $572
Emmet Cosgrove 973/ 2006 $138
Micheal Newhouse 966/last cah 2003 $896
Kevin Rarick 964/2005 $73
Mark Roberts 962/$75

Of all the guys you have listed, Zac Cobus is the only one still listed as a Pro player (MPO) All the rest of them took amnesty. Maybe Zac meant to sign up for the Pro Bowlin Green weekend.
Russ, Check out John Nisewonder who is playing in the Advanced Masters!! Over 960 rated, has played Pro and cashed the last couple of years.
And you thought I was a bagger!!
Later,

Don't Hate the Playa' Hate the Game!! So what, I took amnesty to play Advanced again. Am Worlds is in my HOME town this year, so all you HATERS can keep my name outta' your mouth, and find something better to do than checking DG stats on EVERY person in a 500+ player tournament!! /msgboard/images/graemlins/ooo.gif
Try practiceing your GAME, I hear it works better MB posting!! ;)

You act like I'm scared or somethin. I was just staiting a fact and wondering why. did I talk tsih? No! i have a 1'' cut on the tip of my middle throwing finger and 3 weeks for it to heal. I will bet a nice side bet. Maybe .... loser will sign over their main putter. with this statement ( I got my ssa kicked by ( name here) by (name here) at bowling green amature championships. I have never seen you play or asked what putter you putt with. I throw a 10x avair. Equal value of putter.

reggaB, I've seen that name and rating and figured another pro bagger. At least one of the former winners is playing advanced this time. We'll just have to be on top of our game. rWc3523

Hey There, I am one of the above mentioned players. It has nothing to do with lack of confidence or honor. I have both. Any am player can thank the PDGA for allowing the amnesty, don't blame the player. As ZaC stated am worlds is in WI this year, just down the road from me. I took the amnesty because i never got to play the am worlds and would like a chance to become a world champ(if i get in). I turned pro fairly quick after i joined the pdga, WHY so i could learn from players like Barry Schultz. over the past years i have paid my dues for lessons from Barry.
Yes my last cash was 4 years ago, and if you look at my stat you will see that i have not played any PDGA events in about that long. Having 2 young children has a lot to do with that. SO i thank the PDGA for allowing this. AS far as i see, there is no benefit to playing open. The cost is higher, the payouts are not that strong and unless you are rated about 980 or higher your chance of cashing is not good. IF the PDGA made people earn their pro card things would be different. ITs simple economics. Pay less for more(most ams get a players package just for playing something most tournaments do not give to pros). SO if i can pay less, get more and still have fun why not.

You are a perfect example why they made it. You lost no honor. I hope you do good in the am worlds. Good luck in bowling green.
Zac cashed in a bunch of events last year and just decided to he wanted to play am worlds cause it was close. Highbridge isnt much farther ya big dummy.lol I dont even care anymore. So zac are you turning pro after am worlds?lol
I thought I would try the ryan gwillim thing. I ask one of my friends if they wanted to do it, but his eissup hurt. He wouldnt do it. He said yellow se rhyno's are toooo rare. he said he would do it for 01's, but I only have one and he has 4. I am def not paying all that money again for a piece of plastic.

cash, plastic cash, what's the difference? am, pro, what's the difference?
by the way, open players are any and all players that sign up for an "open" competition, not specifically pro players. these are typically individuals that believe competition between humans can be fun and rewarding and aren't that concerned about being protected from other humans that are better players.

what is worse...
an open player moving to advanced rated 965 or
a lifetime advanced player baggin rated 980?
housejunkie, i thought you were talking about Rob S bc I played two rounds with him at IOS Streamwood and he putts with SE Rhynos and threw 2 01 ROCS, and I said "Cash Money" bc he must have said it 100 times during the rounds bc of the $1000 ace pool. :cool:no cheap shots here
